May try and get a 3g one on the cheap now!
#2
I think I'll be happy with just my 3GS + OS4
#3
depending on price.
banned#4
You'd be mad not to !! All the innovative features it has. A whole 5MP camera, 720HD recording, big square brick looking thing, a micro sim and none of that silly flash nonsense.
#5
It should be the same price as the 3GS.

I hope the networks will give the recent buyers a chance to upgrade. Its would be very frustrating to be stuck with a out dated phone for 24 months paying the same £ as the new one.

How much would I get for my MINT :) 3G 8gig?
#6
yes indeed day one purchase
#7
i'm not because i'm not an apple fanboy (basically a lot of the specs are now only in-line with other phones which are already in existance)

But if I were, I definitely would purely because there's now multitasking! beyond anything else, it makes it better than previous iphones because of this
And there is going to be a chance to upgrade for people on an iphone contract on o2
#8
Girlfriend wants one, but I told her to wait for an announcement. Now it's announced, she'll be getting one, and I'll decide between it and a Desire. Need to have a fiddle with both before I decide.

Also need to get a specialised tariff... Wonder if they'll make it cheaper if I buy 2 tariffs at once....
#9
I will be pre-ordering once they hit the apple store.
#10
i am due 2 upgrades with o2 (mine and mrs) so will see what they say price wise. I'll hopefully get decent money for 2x16gb 3g iphones to make up for the high price of the 4g
#11
I think they have just stepped in front of the competition with it, even though I don't like the look, has lots of features which are in phones currently.

Give it a year and other phones will overtake it.

And no I wont be buying, the Desire is all I.... Desire.
#12
nope i seem to be one of the few people that like a device to do specific tasks -

ie a phone to call and text

a netbook to surf the net

a camera to take pictures

an mp3 player to listen to music
#13
for sure, sold my 3g on ebay which will be put towards buying the iPhone 4. Tuesday Preorder and the following thursday is release. Should i collect or to through the post?
#14
i'm due an upgrade on my 3g iphone in september so i'll get one then
banned#16
I just may get one.
#17
As i cant afford £35+ a month, im trying to think of the best way to get 1.

I currently have an Ipod touch will should fetch around £100ish

Im due an upgrade so may get a good phone/1 with the highest trade in...

and then put the rest of the money (should be less than £100) towards it.

I'll use O2 recycle to get £262 for my 3Gs, or CEX if its more then use that against the price of a sim free one which I imagine wont be far off the £500 mark.

isnt the iphone 4 using mini sim??
so if I get the phone offline, wouldnt I need to get a mini sim from the service provider
#26
I'm happy enough with my 3GS, it does everything I need it to. I wouldn't say I'm a fanatic about recording things on my phone or taking pictures and I'm never in a conference so wouldn't need the front facing camera.
#27
Only Apple could make features available in phones years ago sound new and awesome lmao. (I won't be buying one)

I would like to know about this too. I know there are guides on the net telling you how to cut your SIM into a mini SIM but surely if you ring and ask your SP for one they'll smell a rat.
#29
Im debating between the below.

Dell Streak

HTC Desire

iPhone 4
Any others I should look out for?
#30
Mixed opinions.. Desire guys why Desire over iphone 4?
#31
Think I may get rid of my iPhones & get the new iPhone 4 when released, I noticed the mobile phone recycling companies dropped the prices they was offering for the iPhone 3Gs :x

http://tech.uk.msn.com/news/articles.aspx?cp-documentid=153689342 - The SIM card slot has moved from the top to the side, and sadly it's now a micro SIM slot - meaning changing networks when you finish your contract will be trickier.

Thats the most i've read about it so far (but not really read a lot about it).

The android OS is superior and less restrictive than the iphone OS. Better customization, free google navigation, the new iphone will also have limited multitasking. Granted though the iphone app store has more apps, but most of the core stuff is there on the android market. The price is more reasonable too, it also has a bit more RAM and might get 720p recording in an update (but its not confirmed). It really boils down to the OS though, I think android is far better and the future looks more exciting.
#34
Im gettint one on pay and go as soon as its out

not getting tied into a 2 year contract as i upgrade it every year
#35
Anyone fancy selling me a 3gs 1? if so how much would you be looking for it?

im assuming that the new iphone will be around £500 for a 16gb?
#37
To be honest I was thinking of getting rid of my 3G for a Desire a few months ago... but held off till the iPhone 4 came. I'm glad I did. The Desire OS didn't feel as polished as the iphone and the 4th gen luks awesome.

I think I might stay with O2 as they have good SIM only deals (with quidco or top cash back) they come out to be very cheap. Ill get the Pay As you Go one.. WIll they be locked to the specific Network?
#39
just a bit unclear on this

so is the iphone defo going on payasugo on 24th? or is it only on contract?
#40
Well me and the boss (Mrs) will be getting one each on the 24th :)

Best thing is we are friends with a manager in the local branch and he said he will reserve us 2 and also do us a real good deal on the monthly plans.

Both of us have been out of contract since Feb 2010 and have been waiting for v4 :)
