When you pay that much for something. You pretty much force yourself to like it.

Oh and well done. You should be a sales person, I should buy it because its;
1) Awesome
2) Great
3) I'm missing out
Well you've sold me.

and my Nokia 6300, thanks for the "offer"! ;-)

I would buy an iPhone if:

It had 3G
It had a 3 or more mega pixel camera, with Sony Ericsson type features.
Its contract wasn't absolutely fscking expensive.

If you have got it to spend enjoy it looks a nice phone to me

Don't know why you'd want an E90 in the first place when you clearly didn't need any of its features? Its functionality is far beyond the Iphone as it's a proper smartphone, not a fashion phone which relies on a fancy interface to hide a large amount of omissions.

FreeDUMB is right your forcing yourself to like it because of the cost

i would have used the features but money wise iphone is better as its cheaper.

If you buy and unlock without contract you cannot beat the features of the iPhone for the price. I don't know of any 8GB media (mp3, video) player with wifi, browser, gprs, texting, mobile for £270?

It's not an enterprise handset no doubt -but for an entertainment/media portable browser I haven't seen a better hardware/software package.

p.s. not trying to get in on an Apple fight, just adding my thoughts. I recommend taking a spin in the shop when it comes out as it's worth a try. There's already a bunch of handsets coming out that are mimicking it so I bet in a year from now there is going to be loads of options with the same type of functionality/interface hopefully addressing and improving on the weaknesses of the Apple version.

That really doesn't make any sense at all? Clearly you didn't need the features otherwise no matter how much a saving the Iphone was it would be no use if it couldn't actually fit its intended purpose.

Some problems with thinking this way - you're assuming Apple will do nothing to prevent these unlocked handsets:

http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=9042

"Apple has discovered that many of the unauthorized iPhone unlocking programs available on the Internet cause irreparable damage to the iPhone's software, which will likely result in the modified iPhone becoming permanently inoperable when a future Apple-supplied iPhone software update is installed."

Even putting that aside, you should be able to pick up an unlocked N95 and a 6GB SDHC card (bear in mind the Iphone loses a chunk of space for the OS) for a similar price. As its expandable it means you can add more memory cards as you want, 8GB is frankly rather poor for a device with fixed storage given any SDHC compatible phone will be able to match that or surpass it in time. It blows the dated featureset of the Iphone completely out of the water for both media and general use. Its headset has a remote control, it supports the bluetooth A2DP for wireless headsets, TV out, a 5MP pixel autofocus camera with 30 frames per second video recording at 640x480, it supports HSDPA for far higher data speeds, its battery is removeable, it can copy/paste (which the Iphone cannot), onboard GPS it supports MMS, its symbian platform gives it significantly more flexibility, it can edit office documents out of the box and so on. That's not really going into the enterprise side either.

Admittely it doesn't have an Apple badge nor a fancy touch screen interface though..

money could be spent on a cheaper and better phone I feel. Personally I'd wait till the price has dropped and its more widely available on other networks, think of the money Apple are losing only allowing it to one provider.

Upgrades == $$ Not just a low resolution camera either, no video recording at all.

Apple know they will have no trouble selling a device with a dated featureset which most manufacturers couldn't get away with.

Apple lose nothing - it looks like they will be taking large chunks out of O2's revenue:

http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=8919

According to The Guardian, Apple will rake in as much as 40 percent of the revenues generated by O2 customers using the iPhone. This is in addition to the commission and revenue sharing imposed by O2's relationship with Carphone Warehouse. Carphone Warehouse will be the sole retailer for O2-based iPhones in the UK.

Fair enough. Over priced peice of equipment, but from that article it looks like they have nothing to lose.
