Iphone - Cash Convertor - Orange say its Missing

I bought an iphone from a cash converter shop in plymouth on ebay.

Put in the sim card, and surprise surprise it has come up with no service, did a checkmend report which said it was blacklisted. The seller had put this

"All of our phones are checked using Check Mend and the certificate will be provided with the phone and can be verified online."

But didnt include the cert.

Rang orange who it is locked too, they said it was reported missing on the 8th and they had replaced the phone. They also said the shop should never had sold it to me.

Turns out the man who sold it to Cash Converter has done the old "sell it and report it" scam.

I have just the cash converter shop a message on ebay, gone through ebay and paypal.

Is there anything else i can do?

Cash convertors will refund you upon return of the phone, they will probs inform the police about the person who sold it to them, they will have all his details as you cant sell to cash convertors without ID.

Thing is, worried i will return it to them and never see anything again. Or they will say its a different phone.

Im hoping they do, as they sold it to me as a 3G but turned out it was a 3GS, they might think i swapped the phones. But it still has the sticker on the back from the shop, so should be ok.

The type of ID they tend to need such as bills can be easily faked and got around

they scan the barcode inside the phone for the number so they will know if it the phone they sent you
