Crazy to choose anything other than the iPhone.

People will come here and say the HD is this and that, but really, they only got it because they couldn't afford an iPhone.
#4
Oh I hate this feeling! I saw the HD2 and the screen was really nice, but the loss of apps scares me :P
#5
iPhone is the daddy of all phones!

The fact it is an iPhone should make you want to get it.. The gimmack of the phone WILL NEVER run out :)
#6
and the iphone usually holds it's price where as most other phones go down in value

Ye since the HD2 costs about the same as the iPhone out of contract :P.

to OP:

I had an iPhone 3GS.. Sold my 3G and bought a HD2, a week later i sold my iPhone 3GS as i used my HD2 all the time...

Yes you lose out on the apps, but providing u make all the xda-developers tweaks.. Most reviews conclude that its better in every respect.. Except for apps obviously.

Tbh tho - if ya used to an iPhone.. I'd go for a 3GS..

I love the HTC HD2, plus i wanted something new to play with until the new iPhone comes out in June/July.
#8
Only thing the HD2 has over the iphone.. in terms of quality, is the camera! Everything else, is just underflawed by the operating system...

And i have windows 7 - love it.. never had a MAC computer, so i am not biased..

I come from the Touch HD to the Iphone 3GS.

Thanks guys :)
I think ill go with the 3GS used from the for sale section, then once the new iphone comes out Ill have a look
Thanks again!

If you want to be a sheep, get the iPhone. You already have one, you already know the score. (Do you get missed call problems?)

The HD2 is superior in every way..... except it doesn't go Baaaaa.

Fortunately my 16GB iPhone contract expires this month. If O2 hadn't stopped giving out O2 Open 30% discount, I'd already have my order in for the HD2. As it is, I'll bide my time be stuck with an iPhone until a good deal comes out. As a gadget its fine, just a shame its a crap phone (ironically) and has a crap camera. If I hadnt of got mine at little cost with a free iPod touch 16GB, I would have been a very unhappy bunny.

No please in some people unfortunately. HD2 - Realistically, is a business users phone.

None business users. Why you think Vodafone have dropped the HD2(and put it in the Business section) and are doing the IPhone 3GS to customers?

When a new phone with the HD2 spec, comes out on the market with an android or iphone OS - it will be awesome. no question.

What do you mean dropped it? They've sold out if that's what you mean? I've spoken to them (since I'm looking to move provider as well as new phone) and they've said it will be back it stock. As for why are Voda selling the iPhone...... erm, they starting selling it today. I'm guessing they will be pushing it quite hard!

And multi-tasking, a bigger screen and a better looking UI (in my opinion).

At the moment I prefer the HD2 over my 3GS. It has nowhere near as many apps, but most of the apps on iPhone are absolute garbage.

Interesting thread! Apple stuck the knife in?

But thats not what they said to me over the phone when I spoke. That said, I'd not believe salesmen as far as I can throw them.

You can get an application to do multitasking on the iphone, and can get different themes for the IPhone too, which improves from the standard looking screen etc.

Another thing, IPhone's depreciate alot less than other phones. This time next year, i think this 3GS, will be still worth £250.. in this condition.
#21
Yeh, mobile phone's os's are far behind the times compared with android and iphone.

I cant even use mine as a phone when I'm using TomTom!

And I don't think having different icons and backgrounds is really much to shout about to be honest (though I do admit to have Rabid Rabbits on mine atm):p

Well Ill need to sell my 3g :) I had interest but no one is replying now xD

well both handsets are in front of me now i absolutely adore the hd2 screen but that is where it ends, its sluggish compared to the 3gs the browser is nowhere near as good as the 3gs the keyboard again not on a par with the 3gs so the hd2 is up for sale i might have a do at the nexus one

Cool.

Want to swap it for a 16GB iPhone 3G? (If of interest - obviously we'd need to go through the proper process and avoid the modabees and trolls attention.)

Sounds like you got a duff HD2 if you're finding it sluggish:?

Also, Opera isn't much worse than Safari, if at all. Skyfire is also good and is flash-enabled too.

Maybe I'm just bored of the iPhone considering it's barely changed. It's also awkward going back to the smaller screen.

One thing that lacks, is flash on the iphone.

Seems like you are making a fool of yourself on your own in this thread, but I'll stick the knife in as well. You are plain wrong on many levels. The HD2, like the HD is a great phone, good hardware but a shoddy OS, despite trying to hide it. The iPhone is by far the most complete package.

BTW, When the sheep are all stood around together eating all the sweets, and the other non-sheep is stood in the corner with a tub of lard, the sheep look at the one in the corner, and they laugh. They laugh REAL loud.

Just a thought :)

Looking forward to your reply (seriously)

You are entitled to your opinion........ Since I own 2 iPhones and have actually used an HD2, I'm more in a position to pass judgement than someone who judging by the comments above, is clearly just out to troll. But nothing new there. Enjoy your sweeties, sweetie.

opera is far worse than safari imo i can have stuff done on the 3gs while im still thinking about it on the hd2 ,thats why i bought the hd2 boredom of the 3gs but i luv it when comparing the 2 ,if i had never owned an iphone then the hd2 i would be more than happy with but i cant help comparing and theres no comparison ,but again that screen is to die for

Both of mine, plus so many people I know with iPhones seem to have issues with the phone and missing calls. O2 wont admit anything is wrong with their network apple (its been swapped out) suggest it there is. You ever get any of this?
#34
I traded my HD in at CEX for £170, and purchased the 3gs from ebay for £340! Bargain i thought.. new aswell! I could see the speed improvement over that, specifically browsing the interwebs.. i was blown away!

I never get anything like that.. missed calls or anything, I am on the newer boot rom 3GS.. if that has anything to do with it i dont know. It is an orange Iphone, but is unlocked to use with my O2.

Yeh, Item #220520193839

Luckily, i got the phone, but the seller is no longer registered with eBay... Maybe's a lucky escape! I dunno! lol

7th december i left the feedback. Dunno why her account was closed though. she sold 2 of the iphones.

i have had it happen but rarely, i think o2s network is iphone saturated ,move to vodafone guv try there network

3G or iPhone saturated?

Have to admit I do think it's more than likely them! They're supposed to be sending me out another new sim (which reminds me hasn't arrrived!)

I know all operators say it.... but why the hell would swapping over a Sim make any difference? Surely it works or doesn't? Or do they give some sort or priority ranking dependant on the amount of time youve had it (or simply prioritse new contracts) All was good when I first got it (as was every one else's! Even in the apple shop when I swapped over, they all admitted there are problems (though of course they all blamed O2!)

Lol the irony!

You bought a average phone and have resorted to trying to disguise that by lying on a forum.

BTW, I review phones in my spare time - I've used a HD2, and, through no fault of its hardware, it is still every so slightly sluggish. Scrolling, opening menus etc. Just not quite iPhone smooth.

Thats my opinion, not based on desperation like some.

Vodafone do the same thing. its the latest "line" from the cs reps - replace the sim. They must have had training on it or something recently.

You are correct - it'll make no difference whatsoever in 99.99999% of cases, and that 0.00000001 per cent will probably be something else fixed by you messing around with the sim.

(Serious post - please keep your whinging reply to my earlier post seperate)

i agree totally about the sluggishness thing, you have to press harder on the hd2 to make it work the 3gs you can press the link on the browser no problemo and it just works flawlessly , the hd 2 you have to try harder

I know what you mean.

Theres no big problem with the HD2 - for years I used HTC device one after another (right from the first Orange SPV). It's just slightly less nippy, slightly worse "complete package". And although only slight, when you are spending so much, why be happy with second best - however small the gap?
