Hi my mom bless her brought a iphone the other day, dont know why not the best with gadgets, brought it on pay as you go new 3gs 16gb one spent over £400.
Well my step dad has been trying to help her put stuff on it and not doing very well to my moms annoyance, and i ve just found out if you put music on it i.e from a cd via itunes you can't use that music or a song as your ringtone all songs brought from the i tunes store, and also non iphones cant bluetooth things i.e music or photos to iphones thats just crazy.i guess its a clever way for apple to make yet more money.
Now i know the iphone is rated as number 1 and i dare say it can do a whole lot more which is why people buy them but you think it would also do the basics.
And i know what people will say if your mom wanted that why not buy a run of the mill phone instead of buying this..... well dont worry ive thought that a thousand times myself and told her.
Oh well you never know she might have enough of it by xmas and decide to give it her heir to the throne and one and only son :)
Just thought id tell someone.

Its very easy to make ringtones etc, and as for bluetooth, well.... bluetooth is slow, outdated, and you have to remember this is a SMARTPHONE. Most people wouldn't care for bluetooth anymore, as long as it has the essentials, e.g. stereo bluetooth headsets etc. Only charvs use bluetooth to swap der killa trax innit blud!

If you do actually want all those features then jailbreak, makes everything 10x easier.

Just remember what the concept of a smartphone actually is.

I use bluetooth a lot, I use it to sync my contacts/calendars/notes etc from my phone to my laptop. It's so much easier than using the cable.

Apple are riding the coool wave. The policy underwriting it all thier producst is.. You bought it... we still own it and we can tell you how to use it, when you can use it and what with...

They have been doing this from the time they brought out the ipod. I lost count of the amount of people that could not even get them working because of the restrictions built in.

I can't stand the company and can't wait for the wipe out. I think that may be some time judging by to droll I see everytime somebody mentions the iphone.

sorry I didn't mean to make you feel full of embarrassment and shame, however so many people say brought, I was wondering if it was maybe a regional thing?

Brought is still a word ie. the past tense of bring.
eg. "Did you bring the cake?" "Yes, don't worry, I brought it."

So even though it is not the correct word/grammar, it still can be plausible.
eg. "Where did you get that cake from?" "I brought it from the corner shop."

I guess people just get confused with the two words as they are quite similar and interchange them with one another by mistake.

You can use real songs as ringtones, I've done it on here...

http://audiko.net/

Click download song for iPhone.

When you sync the phone the song will be put in the ringtones section.

The iPhone syncs all of that directly to itunes and automatically sorts them and makes backups.
