in my opinion no

i have the htc touch HD and love every moment with it

you will get a lot of people throwing their comments into the pot but the biggest factor for me is apple had that audacity to ship them with bluetooth support hide it from the users then make them pay (i know not all) to basically have a feature turned on.

people will say it is down to them programming it but this is just not true, their app store is completely moderated by apple and there is many cases that apple have withdrawn apps from the store because they are in competition with a similar apple product or it doesn't do what they want, one of which was Bluetooth support.

this is my opp though and i know they are pretty as hell, also i heard terrible to type on , where with windows mobile ones you can download getting on 50 different styles of input device i currently use a similar phone pad layout which is a third party app and works a treat i would say as easy as a normal button phone

keep an eye out for the ever increasing range of Android handsets.... currently there is only the T-mobile G1 which is what i have..... truly an exceptional handset.

given the choice, I'd currently pick the HTC touch HD. Just wasn't available for me to choose when I got my iPhone. I do like my phone - just saying there are far better alternatives.

I also hate iTunes with a vengence. It's a source of amusemt when I hear how easy it is to use the iPhone. Those that do, really ought to open their eyes and see through the hype.

I had a touch diamond, and hated the windows OS and the touchscreen, however six months down the line, I though I might as well try the iPhone. and tbh Im loving every minute of it!

HTC Touch HD is far too slow in Opera - so for internet, not for me. The screen is good, the OS is *****.

Having said that, I would advise ANYONE to wait wait wait before getting an iPhone. It is amazing, it is the best for browsing and gaming, and the touch keyboard gets easier with use.

However, the new models will be out within a few months, and I really can't a reason to go for it now.

Go for the iphone, but wait.

I'd have said the same re:Touch HD, but having bought one (And sold within a week), its really disappointing when you actually use it.

In my opinion, if you're still a big kid inside, the range of games on the iphone is brilliant, but if you;re an adult who isn't that interested in apps, then no.

Hang fire, there is a possible iPhone update on the way plus lots of interesting looking Android phones coming out. At the end of the day it's about personal preference, have a play with the phones and see which you prefer. Although I think you'll find the positive press on the iPhone far outweighs the negative, most of the neigh-sayers
are the same folks who scream "overpriced" at everything Apple make anyway.

One thing I would definitely avoid though are Windows mobile phones. The OS sucks, it's about as much use as a chocolate teapot. You have to install a million and one things before it becomes even half-way usable.

Agreed, also I have found the iPhone to have the best touch screen by far.

The iPhone is brilliant - but if you have to buy one make sure that you do so on Pre-Pay - the 24 month contract is extremely expensive!

Another alternative is to buy an iPod Touch 2nd Generation - this does just about everything the iPhone does but costs much less - and you can use it to make calls by loading the free Truphone or Skype apps from the iTunes apps store. If you make most of your calls from home, office or other locations where there is wifi then this is a very very cost effective way forward!

I used to change my phone every couple of months, had original iphone until the 3G came out now have the 3G and have not wanted to change

Have had Windows Mobile - MDA Vario I, II & 3 and Nokia N95 Iphone for me wins hands down, sure it has it's faults (short battery life for one) but i'd not be without mine
