Think you need an exchange, I don't think it syncs with Outlook mail, only contacts and Calendar but default.

If you use Gmail, yahoo etc just pop the settings into the native email app on the iphone. Yahoo is the only one to support PUSH or if you sign up to Apples MobileMe you can have any email account via PUSH much like Blackberry but to sync with Outlook I'm adamant you need an exchange server.

I don't actually use MobileMe so I'm not really converse, sorry for the confusion, what I meant was MobileMe will act as a PUSH server for your email address. i.e. Hotmail and Gmail for example don't support PUSH but if you put the details of your email into MobileMe it's pulls them from your account and PUSHes them to your device (as far as I'm aware) just the same as Blackberry does.

As far as I'm aware, unless you have an Outlook Exchange Server (i.e. a Company) you can't sync an iPhone and Outlook emails.

Might be easier to speak to your IT at work, I don't know anything about the exchange server but I think they will need to add your unique ID to the server allowed list anyway.

Mobile me is excellent. You just set it up on the Iphone. Then download the software to your PC and just follow instructions. It allows you to sync calendar, emails and contacts.
