do you know how much extra it is to add that on? was just about to ring o2 as in same situation

you'd be better off with the web bolt on i would have thought

All O2 sim cards will work in the iPhone as long as you connect via iTunes to set it up. You will need the web bolt on to get full benefit of the phone - I think it is £10 off the top of my head but I'm sure the O2 website would give you the answer.

It may be worth asking if they will upgrade you early, will probably be cheaper as will get all inclusive web access etc.

so would you say that the web bolt on would be better than the wi-fi bolt on

I asked the same question to O2 yesterday!
All O2 sims will work with iPhone, however, if u want internet then u'll hv to get a data bolt-on (around £10). This enables iPhone to access the 'iPhone specific server'
Early upgrade is £150 & the rest of the tariffs I'm sure u already know.
#10
so if you get early upgrade, you pay 150 for the phone? then do they extend your contract for another 12/18m?

deffinately u can use your own home wifi or macdonalds for free the web bolt on is the 1 you want

cool cheers for that :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Yup! £150 for phone then the usual £35 or £45 or.....tariff per mth.
I don't think 12mth contracts are available on iPhone only 18/24.
Once u start doing the sums, u realise how expensive the iPhone really is. I personally hv gone down the getting a 'jail-broken' iPhone route.
#13
ok mine has just arrived so from what im reading i should keep my old sim and just add the web and wi-fi bolt on for an extra £10 a month
#14
the 150 is that for the 3g or 3gs? thanks
#15
I was told 3GS
#16
yep i just rung them, it was as you said but to get out of my current contract it would be nearly £300??!! i only pay £20 a month so i said i may as well bung it in a drawer for a few months than pay that on top and take out the deal as a new customer.

......not being smug or anything like that, but I am currently in mth 12 of a 18mth contract with O2. I get 600 x-net mins, 1,000 txts & unlimited data (i.e. internet) all for...........................£1.67 per mth, yes, £1.67 per mth.
O2 had this deal going last year (for abt a month), where u get all the abv. by paying £35 per mth. Then u get back £200 after 6mths, 12mths, 18mths, with which I hv had absolutely no probs in getting my money back. It was such a fantastic deal I smacked it there & then. So that's £600 back with which you whack a brand new iPhone.....simple! O2 r now offering me all kinda upgrades but guess wot, once my 18mths is up I'm gonna demand the same deal.
