How come? Genuine inquisitive question. I went from an Nokia N95 straight to an iPhone and I have not deviated from Apple since.
#7
Why did you switch from an iphone?
#8
i just prefer the android market, the android interface is much better imo, not tied down by apple and itunes. dont get me wrong until now i absolutely loved my iphone, maybe its just because i assumed apple products to be the pinnacle

What iphone did you have OP? 2g (1st generation?) try getting the iphone 4, best phone i have ever owned.

i did have a 2g to be fair, but in terms of interface pretty much the same, and i have used an ihphone 4 alot.

Don't worry, most apple users have that unjustified viewpoint. My iPhone is just used for sat nav now.

You can't cant compare a 2G to a 4G, I have a 4G and there is no phone out there that I would change to!

Fair comment. Never had an android phone but must say that if I could change something about iphones, it would be the itunes interface and also the Bluetooth restrictions. The Orange SF looks a pretty decent phone for the money, but I'm pretty satisfied with my iphone 3GS and my girlfriends iphone 4 never leaves her hands, so it would be a hard sell !!

how are you finding the san fran, is it easy to mess with?

I'm going to need to unlock it to put it on o2 for a start then does it come with android 2.2 and marketplace or do you need to put a custom rom on it?

I'm looking for a budget android phone because I can't justify the spend on the HTC Desire HD and the san fran looks better than the LG optimus?

My dad has the San Francisco as it is cheap android phone, which is why he got it, but the Iphone 4 beats it hands down on every aspect.

Does he need to use some proprietary crap software system to transfer apps and music?

iphone 4 is over 4 times the price though, so it should. But other iphones really dont do so well against a san francisco. i bought my wife a 3g, and though its nice to hold, to use.....nah. san francisco all the way. Money no object though, id take an iphone 4, mainly because ive seen what the camera can do, my brother in law has taken photos with his that look outstanding, i almost think he used his dslr and not his iphone.

So the title should be Iphones 2G, & 3G are overrated, the 4G are expensive maybe a little be to much, but for what you can use them for you cant complain that much, some people have a none Apple iPhone but then have an iPod, so why carry 2 things round when you have got it all in one.

Dont get me wrong for the price the San Francisco are good phones.

People buy them because they like them, they must be doing something right. Most of the people who complain about iPhones have never owned one.
How long did you use the 2g for lol? No wonder you were bored, A switch to any phone must have been exciting for you.

Whattt. Pft. It's practically a miniature laptop. I find the pricing fair and just. IF, you use all the features. If you get it just for apps like all these flashy kids, you may as well buy a cheap itouch, selotape it to the back of a £10 payg phone. And enjoy.

defo agree thumbs down to iphones re value for money.... for half the dough get the nokia n8 12mp cam, dolby surround, hd etc

however, new iphone5 sounds great with dual core processor/512mb ram/a5 chip may be more value for money compared to the 2g iphone the time when mugg puntters were queuing to pay £600 for didly squat
#37
Android 2.x beats the heck out of 1.5/1.6.

The San Fran I understand is freely unlockable with ease, try 2 minutes on google and you'll find info (I don't have a San Fran but do have an Android OS phone)

Personally I'd buy plenty of other phones over the iPhone, regardless of price. Proprietary bloated c*** software has had its day with me. Those that have an iPhone and think I'm talking rubbish, ok whatever, but I would honestly not swap my lowish-end phone for an iPhone 4, except perhaps to sell it.

I can however see myself forking out for something silly like the Motorola Atrix or the LG Optimus 2x in a few months...

To be fair the 2g iPhone was probably the only truly innovative product they've released since the original OSX (10.0) and had no real competitors at the time. The Motorola Atrix I mentioned will be shipping first and have dual core 1GHz cpu and 1GB of RAM... So I think Apple can only play catch up from here on unless they pull their finger out on the R&D side and do something new.

How can you say the iPhone 4 is overpriced £499 unlocked then sell it 12 months later for over £400 try doing that with any android phone, the app store is leaps and bounds over the android offering, most people who say the iPhone is crap have never owned one they have gone straight from a nokia of any description to the San Fran, but have never sold an iPhone 4 for another lesser android handset.:)

You are correct the app store is better presented i guess, but that is because it is tied in with itunes which is neccessary to have an iphone pretty much and is a refinned product having been around over 10 years now! its also locked down to high hell.

Andorid doesnt require something like itunes so therfore the market wont appear as slick.

I know NO-ONE that has moved from android to iphone, but many who have moved in the other way. Iphones hold their value because there are a never ending supply of fools to buy them, where as android is an OS that can move and upgrade with the times which non lazy people try to do...

£400 for a year old piece of tech... bloody mornic!
