iPod Touch and Saving TV Progs/Films

I'm thinking of getting hubby an iPod Touch for his birthday and want to know what is the easiest and quickest way for him to then watch tv progs/films when he is not at home.

His work does not have any wifi availability nor are there any wifi hitspots around, so I assume [somehow] saving these to the Touch itself for him to watch at his leisure (is that allowed??)

Any advice gratefully rec'd!

you would need to either buy the programs from itunes or "obtain" them elsewhere and convert them to the mp4 format the ipod/iphone uses and then import them to itunes

there is an iphone TV ap? http://www.totalapps.net/mobile-apps/iphone-tv-catchup/ UK only but it definately needs wifi to run.

Link to site is here: http://iphone.tvcatchup.com/ but its only useful for those with a decent wifi connection........sometimes I really do regret having a blackberry 8900.....

There's a wide range of TV shows and films available to purchase legally online from the iTunes store. You can either 'rent' the films or buy them. When you rent a film you have 30 days to watch it, and then once you've clicked 'play' you have 48hrs in which to finish viewing it. If you buy it you can obviously watch as many times as you like.
