hi all as above says the lads ipod touch has gone missing or stolen out of his bedroom
it was there one day but gone the next
we do/did have people in the house but that has now stopped
i have got the serial number and box and reciept
think a 4 digit lock code was on it
is there anything we can do nto get it blocked from itunes as itunes pulls the serial number out of it,
can they unlock the pin code
also if it does get blocked and it does turn up can it be unblocked again
will be going into town tomorrow so will nip in the apple shop then
thanks in advance

you cannot block an ipod touch or even an iphone from itunes

the pin lock can be bypassed easily with a bit of technical know how

if you had a mobileme account you could track it,remote wipe data/message it etc

A few months ago one of my daughter's friends lost his phone in the house whilst there was only the two of them playing in the bedroom. of course, his Mum decided my daughter must have taken it? Big arguments followed......You cannot go around stating things that you cannot back up with evidence or facts.

Guess what, a few days afterwards, the phone turned up lost behind some wardrobe or chest of drawers or something. Lots of appologising etc later, my daughter and her old friend will never be friends again and the mother cannot even look me in the eyes..

I would suggest politely asking all of the kids that were there if they have seen it or politely asking their parents if they have seen it 'as it may have been taken by mistake'. First though, I would turn your house upside down to make sure it has gone.

i know what your saying we have looked in the room had all the wardrope out incase some boxer shorts were put on top of it and picked up when they were put away, we asked one of the lads and he said it was where we said it was so it has been moved one way or the other, the reason i posted it on here was to ask if anything could be done regarding blocking not pointing fingers at anyone, if its gone its gone but a least if we could of blocked it no one else could of used it.
the reason i asked was itunes pulls out the serial number of it and thought it could be blocked that way

A similar tale happened to my sister, her 6yr old had been at a freinds house the day before when she got a text asking if her son could have accidentally taken her daughters DS as she couldn't find it anywhere, they had looked everywhere to no avail.a couple of days later said friend still couldn't find it after they'd turned the house upside down.

A week later it turns up,under the sofa so evidently they hadn't turned the house upside down:roll:

to be honest its not the 1st thing thats gone missing
over a couple of years its been a £170 samsung 10mp digital camera, £40 out of a glass cupboard that i put there went back later and it had gone, a gameboy micro in a case with a game in, now this, none of the others have turned up so cant see this turning up, also for the last 2 weeks i cannot find my 8 gig usb dongle which always goes back in the same place when finished with
who knows looking for the ipod i might find all the other items in the same place.
this is why i have said enough is enough no more
