Ipod Touch Help Needed - £5 via Paypal if you help me fix it!!!!!

I have a 1st Gen Ipod touch which my friend attempted to jailbreak and now does not turn on. He tells me that it is stuck in DFU mode. It is recognised by iTunes when I plug it in so there must be some life in it somewhere. It tells me that I need to restore it but I always get an error message of some sort. I tried to use some jailbreaking software myself in an attempt to try and fix it but still no luck. I read on some forums that I might have to download some other version of the firmware and install it but this doesn't work either.

Whoever provides me with the solution will get £5 via paypal.

Any ideas???

Have you tried pressing power and home?

Also what firmware do you have and what jailbreak method did you try?
#2
dunno if you have but have you tried restoring the original firmware?

download it here Firmware

then jail breaking it...if thats what you want to do.

edit. press and hold shift then select Restore and choose the firmware you downloaded

Pressing home and power does nothing and I have already tried installing the original firmware. Any other ideas?

keep trying it, my iphone was stuck like that and after numerous times holding the home and power button in, it eventually worked

What iTunes errors do you get?

I have had them and can easily be fixed. Also what firmware are you trying to install. I takes it to be 3.1.3

I have downloaded most of the firmware versions and have been trying to install them. On iTunes I have been getting the error numbers 1600, 1601 and 1604. Do you know what the problem could be?

Mine wouldn't restore yesterday. It had removed the old os but couldn't seem to load the new one. Mine was my Zone Alarm. I disabled that for a while and it restored no problem. Hope this helps.

Have you tried the proper DFU method rather than just restore mode?

turn on, wait til its stuck at whereever it gets stuck...

connect to PC

hold home+power for 10 seconds (count them), after about 8/9 seconds itll turn off, but keep holding about a second more. then release. screen will stay blank but eventually windows will detect new hardware and try restoring from there.

Ok thanks!! I would try and force you to have it if you actually helped me to get this working again lol

I've tried the DFU method many times too but thanks for the input.
