IPod touch problem please help!!

I can't access any Internet webpages. My iPod touch says it is connected to the Internet as the blue bars are showing in the left hand top corner. But when I go onto safari and open a webpage the screen comes over dark and in the middle of the screen it says 'connecting' in White writing. Nothing ever happens though and because the screen is dark all of the safari buttons like bookmarks can't be clicked on and the only way to use them is to reboot the iPod. I've tried rebooting and disconnecting and reconnecting the Internet but nothing works.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks.

This happens to me somethings, try your disabling your network security, to see if your problem has something to do with that, if that doesn't work maybe reset your router to factory defaults
