PLEASE PLEASE READ!!!
Can anyone tell me what should i do please??

I was looking to get a ps3 last week, and came across a very attractive deal from additions which was... PS3 320GB, GT5, Fifa11 and a EARFORCE P21 HEADSET for £329 and with the 10% off discount and BNPL deal it all came to £300.05.

I particularly chose this deal after checking the reviews of the headset and also the headset alone was £69 so i thought it was an execellent deal for me. Place the order and also put another of those deals on my basket as it thought that my cousing would be interested aswell and it might run out by then.

Check the order status on saturday and it was all fine still at depot and the bundle was the same. On Monday when i was checking the order status i noticed that the bundle had change to a £12 headset and a HDMI cable instead of the EARFORCE HEADSET. I thought oh well at least i will get mine. Yesterday received the order, and guess what, they had sent me the cheap bluetooth headset and the HDMI cable!!! gutted! called them, spoke to a very nice lady who tried to help, but they said that they didnt have that bundle available anymore so they sent me the equivalent... equivalent??? a £12 bluetooth headset and a HDMI cable??? i already have that and cold pick it up for less than £20 i argued. anyways she said that i would have to bur the other headset separetly but was trying to get me a discount with her manager, put me on hold for about 15 mins and the call got cut off, as i was calling from my mobile i left it to call today from work.

Called them this morning and to my surprice, they ara adamant that the deal i should have had was never available on their site and that i got what was advertised. I argued that My order says PS3 320GB, GT5, Fifa11 and headset and their new deal states HMDI Cable and Headset and as it doesnt state what headset, according to them i even got lucky to get a HDMI cable... what a joke!! spoke to the manager and she says that she spoke to the people encharged of the website deals and they told her that that deal with the EARFORCE HEADSET was never available, and therefore i got what i oredered, unless i can provide a printout showing that they were actually offering that deal!! which i dont have and as they have changed the deal on their site i cant bring it up on my PC history either!! This headset was the only reason why i ordered this particular deal and now they are saying that it never existed! did anyone else see or order this??? the asked me if i want to return it but i am not sure what to do, I am really P*** OFF and after waiting over a week the last thing i want is to return the thing!!

I will be putting a complaint in writting but i thing that they are an absolut joke and would like to show them that the deal was on to see what they say!!

I would return it all if I was you.Don't you have a confirmation email stating what you ordered?

Basic position is they only have to offer a refund if they have no longer have the deal.
Even if you find proof that they offered it they only have to give a refund in law.

yep...that company and its group are a joke, a bunch of cowboys, liars and blatantly useless at what they do....cant wait for them to go in to administration....

totally sucks. get trading standards on them. john lewis screwed me around like this..sending something elsoe when i ordred something else. and they refused to budge. once i got a trading standards refrence number they were less annoying..sadly i never got the product as i just cba in the end but i got a massive discount on the alternative item.

Not true. If the OP is correct, they have clearly breached the contract by not fulfilling their part. Refund is not the only remedy available.

Cool story bro.

But, personally, I'd first spend the day trying to do all I can to prove the intial deal was offered, as magic said, they've breached your contract by forcing soem cheap alternative crap down your throat and completely deny the offer existed. If you can prove it, whether it's via confirmation email, and old screenshot or image in your temporary internet files of the deal, anything. God knows, throw it at them.

Otherwise, just return it and get it elsewhere more reliable. Either way, good luck XD.

Just spoke to a different call centre manager and they are still insiting that it was never on their site and that their IT people has never seen this deal on their website at all! what a joke!

@isthatoldladycomingontome: i've been looking all over but no luck, all the history on my pc takes me to the new deal!! its ruuuubbissh! I wonder if anyone else oredered it and got this crap!

Unfortunately it would be for you to prove your case and not for them to initially disprove it. If you cannot prove that they have breached the contract then I suggest you consider the option of a refund.

isn't their some sort of google cache thing that the technical stalkers on here use occaisionally to view stuff that people have deleted maybe if i'm not dreaming that could be used to view the original offer.. I'm sure someone with a bit more technical know how would be able to give a bit more advice.

I found what seems to be this deal from the 2nd december but it just says headset (no model) and it doesn't state that it comes with HDMI as it does now

That's the one I am looking at - I'm sorry but I think you must have been mistaken

This link to the page was saved on 2/12/2010 and it simply mentions 'headset' - is that the photo you saw too - as that doesn't look like the Earforce set either

Yes, that is what i managed to find from my history too, but as soon as you go to it, it bring the new deal on. I dont know how to find or if theres is a way to see the files/pics opened on the pc.

It was there, believe me! I was torn between this or the ps3 320gb with GT5 and the steering which with the discount would have been like £270, but as soon as i saw the reviews, i went for it.

Thats what i got, completely wrong. Any of my older links for last week will take me to that very same page, which is NOT the one i saw. they changed it, 100% sure!

If they have changed it (very likely) it would still be up to you to prove what the original contents were, so unless you have a screen shot or just happened to be running some kind of monitoring software then that is going to be very difficult or else everyone will just be making claims that when they purchased something it should have included something. After you ordered yours you should have posted the deal here then you would have had all the proof you needed.

If you happened to have something like Firefox update scanner that may have told you about changes made( not an expert by all means on this though). Don't know of theres an app that will give you an history of the webpage but i think we would be talking heavy duty here which will probably not make it wotrth you while.

So you would have been happy if you didn't get the headset, but the wrong items were delivered the next day?

You can claim compensation for Breach of Contract

A similar thing happened to me with M&S and I sent them a formal letter notifying that if they do not provide compensation I'll take them to court and they paid up.

They did something simular to my friend who ordered a pram with a free car seat or carry cot? They sent the pram but not the car seat.

She phoned and they said the usual rubbish that it wasn't the deal. She had the proof and eventually they sent out the car seat. She just kept on and on and they gave in!

Tell them you want to cancel the order and see what they say.
