Channels 3-5 have completely vanished.

Has anyone had a similar problem? Ive been reading the odd news article which says lots of people of suffering, but theres no suggestions about on how to fix it... other than smashing it into the ground, which obviously ive tried.

try a signal booster, maybe you can buy one from argos and return it if its still no good
mine did the same a while back but its only a bedroom tv and its linked to sky so i just ignored it

try doing the fresh install again

was going to try a booster, although ive been told they dont do much to help

fresh install has been done quite a few times. Same result each time

Yes, as above - you will need to do a factory reset and reinstall the channels. (May be called New installation or something)

-I live in a digital only signal area now and have so far had to re-tune about 4 times since July.

edit: I read that some older digi-boxes will not (and never will) work after the recent changes.

yeah, we do the new installation everytime.. im thinking their box is just not going to work

i have read somewere that they have turned down the signal on some transmitters whilst they do work and all will be fine when analogue switches off, not sure if its true or not

yeah its weird - all these people are losing ITV3/4 and gaining 5 - my parents have lost 3,4 and 5, but the other ITVs are fine.

Theres an aerial booster in argos, £7.99... does this attach at the TV end or the aerial by the roof end?..
and would something that cheap, actually make a difference?

nope all good here.

I doubt that signal strength is the problem.

First try deleting all the channels then do a full scan if that doesn't work then try this
