Just read the bitter wallet article about littlewoods and am a bit worried as i used 2 x £30 off codes on littlewoods and kays. Has any1 else had experience with them charging the whole amount a few months down the line? Should i send my items back?

I ended up cancelling my order as they totally ignored the £30 voucher and took the whole amount out my bank account, they then told me via email that the £30 off vouchers were not valid for any of the 3 for 2 offers

You should be worried. Littlewoods had my car towed away last month, all over a disputed £25 code in 2006. :x

Does anyone know if Littlewoods would make an inquiry in your credit report if you paid by debit/credit card and did not open a credit account with them?

LITTLEWOODS FINANCE COMPANY LTD , a Mail Order company, has made an inquiry against your credit report. If you were not aware of or did not consent to this search, contact LITTLEWOODS FINANCE COMPANY LTD or Equifax for clarification.

Looking at what you wrote. Yes.

I guess you agreed to it when you ordered something.

I placed 2 orders using the £50 off voucher, both on the same account and both on the 3 for 2 toys. they took the full amounts out of my bank, so panicked and tried to cancel orders, they could only cancel the one as the other one had already been sent to despatch. I recieved the second order on Tuesday, and yesterday they refunded the full amount of the first order into my bank, silly them though refunded all 3 items even though I only payed for 2 ( ooops for them ) and the £50 then today they refunded another £50 into my bank. So it has worked out that my second order only cost me pence for over £100 worth of toys:)
I am still slightly worried about what will come of it in the future, but I did try to ring and sort it out when I cancelled my first order.

i use the codes all the time. i did have a bit of trouble last year with great universal when they sent a nasty letter saying that i was not entitled to the code i was now £25 pounds in a arrears plus a £12 late payment charge and my account was now in default.
i called them up and asked them to provide proof i was not entitled to the code. their reponse was forward proof of the email i should have received with the code.
i said after 2 months a reasonable person would have deleted it.
they said that the default would be registered with a credit agency and costs of £12 per month would be added.
i told them that i would wait a court hearing and counterclaim mainly for adverse credit score.
i was transfered to a manager who refunded the £30 plus £5 goodwill plus a free teddy and a letter of apology.
i still use the codes now and used the £50 code 5 times last sunday. littlewoods did phone on wednesday. i thought i was going to have to send it all back but she just asked me to change my password:santa:

i used the £50.00 off twice and it shows as credits to my accounts when i check online. my sister in law used it twice too. if i get any problems i will say that it may have been sent to me in error and if so they should have stopped me using it when i called.
thought christmas was going to be hard this year but this has helped greatly. thanks to initial poster.
