Is anyone getting fed up with Ebay?

It's not often I rant, I'm usually quite calm, but ebay are doing my head in. Sorry to the people who don't like rants on here but I just wanted to know if it was just me or if other people were getting fed up with them too.

I have used ebay for buying and selling for about 4 years but in the last week they have removed 4 of my listings for stupid reasons, 1 because I'd put that it was being advertised elsewhere so I removed this line and relisted it, and the other 3 because I'd put that I don't accept echeques (there must be a lot of people getting their listings removed for that reason then).

Along with silly reasons for removing listings, their charges are now astronomical as they know they have got the lions share of the market and people will pay them no matter what they are as there are no other websites out there that attract as many customers.

I think us HUKD'ers should set up a new website in competition with ebay (although they'll probably remove that too). Well perhaps not but it's flipping well tempting. Has anyone else had any problems or miffs with ebay or is it just me?

Same here until this week, listed exactly the same as I have for about the last 5 years but this week have had 4 removed so it looks like they're changing some of their policies. I, like you, loved ebay up until now but with the charges increase too am starting to get a bit cheesed off with them (as you can probably tell)!!!

Have to agree with the charges!
My bill was £30 last month! :x
Quite ridiculous tbh, thats my only criticism of ebay atm.

High Charges, listings removed for no reason, stupid and pointless new feedback system, lack of action on non paying bidders....

I've given up on it

i have a problem with buyers. as soon as people pay for an item i post it to them the next day, my dispatch time was 5 out of 5. then this week its gone down to 4.8 ahhhhhhhhhhhh. why do people not look at the date the item was posted? i always post firstclass its not my fault if royal mail are slow or are people just giving low score just because i cant do anything about it?

I agree with you for once!

I will be doing a car boot sale this weekend if the weather is decent.

I was trading for years on ebay when it was a good place to shop and get deals but stopped trading due to high ebay and paypal charges, other issues i had with sellers on ebay was that they would hold your feedback to ransom so if you didn't leave good feed back for them they would do the same to you ( I know this has been changed now ) and then they would charge far to much for postage.
but at the risk of upsetting you Annie one of the fastest thing to put me off bidding for an item on ebay was that line " I reserve the right to end this auction early as this is advertised elsewhere " to me that meant that if i don't get the price i want i wont sell it to you ! so that reduced the chances of getting a good price if you were the winner and means the seller doesn’t have to put a reserve on the item which in some case's would put buyers off when they see it has a reserved price

I've had enough of ebay too. Too many dodgy sellers and people who don't pay, so you have to go to dispute to get your fees back. And the fees system has rocketed - I've stopped selling there because you have to predict the seller fees and the Paypal fees you'll pay - and I just don't think it pays to use them anymore. I use Gumtree or Friday-Ad which are free!:w00t:

I use Amazon and Play to sell Dvds and Cds, seems to work ok & you know how much you will get.

But does anyone know of any other auction sites?
