I have a Beko fridge and a seperate Beko freezer and they are superb.

When people say it is a cheap brand, you could say the same about most things where over advertised brands dominate markets.

I've got a beko freezer had it about ten years with no problems and it was second hand when I got it

Beko is ok IMO, 3rd largest appliance manuafacturer in Europe based in Turkey. They are the part of the same company that make Flavel
#8
Had a BEKO fridge freezer for 2 years now, can't fault it, and much better than the hotpoint we had before.
And ahem the mitchells have one in eastenders.:-D
#9
Beko are just cheaper as they use cheaper (not necessarily worse) components
#10

yeah i know, its brand new & i needed a degree in physics & chemistry to get the blooming thing to work, typical male, if all fails read the manual or get the missus to work it :-D

why dont they just have a knob that says on/off, sorted, why the need to be a NASA scientist to get it to switch on :x
#15
I'd love to know how you keep a washing machine cold!
#16

Personally, I'd probably go for a more traditional name like David or James.

Far too many people using odd names like "Brooklyn" and alike.

Let us know when you've made you're mind up.

before i refurbished all my kitchen this year we had a beko fridge and freezer. Both about 4 years old when i took them out and gave them to my friend.Working as good as the day i brought them

Also know other friends and relatives who have beko appliances and have no trouble.

I'd say Beko is one of the best "Cheap Brand" manufacturer of appliance's.

Hotpoint and it's other group of companies (Idesit, Aristan etc) is probably the worst in my opinion.

At least its not called a smeg!

Hmmm Similar experience.

Our Hotpoint dishwasher had a years extended warrenty under Barclaycard. Hotpoint had already been called out to repair once. Then twice under the exented year. Britsh Gas were their repair agents and after their 7th appointment, (mostly cancellations on the day) we got a full refund of £450 from them.

Instead of buying a new machine, we dicided to go straight to hotpoint - and use £120 of our refund. It packed up after 6 months again...... But we just let it go. Annoyingly, it was covered for 9 months by the Hotpoint call out - we could have got them back for free. (Doh!)

Anyway, we ended up calling them again..... and we agreed to the insuance offered.... which included a new replacement if they couldnt repair.

They came... they repaired.

Within a day, it went again.

The engineer came back and admitted to us there was a build fault with the machine - it was constantly leaking water onto the control board (which would explain why this was replaced each time - and told us he was writing it off.)

Hurrah we thought.... We'd get a new machine. Nope. We were told, it had to be fixed on the first visit, else not covered. We got given a insurance refund. (this despite the fact this was a revisit.)

Hotpoint weren't interested.

Eventually, we went back to the retailler and told them they had sold us a lemon. Obviously they werent too happy, but they agreed to a replacement which they came and installed for us. Obviously they didnt lose out (they'd have dumped it back on Hotpoint), but it wasn't their fault.

This is the machine thats now gone wrong after 2 years.

The 2 Hotpoint Washing machines had similar issues to the above......

Just totally crap gear AKA Hotpoint.
