Is it even worth washing your car at this time of year?

My car really needs washed but I just keep thinking to myself it's a waste of time. It's sunny at the moment but the minute I wash it, it either rains or a bird leaves me a present on it. Also drive on the motorway so get all the spray and dirt from the road plastered to my car :(

Its not woth it but i do it anyway, I know of a neighbour that only washes his car when its raining, he puts waterproofs on and takes a soapy cloth out and uses the rain to wash / rinse his car! weirdo!

I would say yes it's worth cleaning at any time of the year as the dirt, grime, snow etc ruins your paintwork!

God he sounds like a nutter! lol :giggle::giggle:
must be one of those save water people!

It's always worth giving it a quick wash as it's the dirt and salt from the roads that damages your paint work.

Not so much saving water but being pretty tight and not wanting to spend money at a car wash! ;-)

Sounds funny, but is the best time to wash a car, the rain doesn't have limescale in it, unlike tap water.;-)

We're lucky, live in Scotland so we don't have the Limescale in the water :)

U'll be hoping a bird sh**s on your car so you can go back and get the hot men to wash your car all over again :whistling: :-D

I don't have anything like that over here... ususally some old wrinkly man in his waterproofs washing the cars over here... us a lucky lady

Aii.

I used to wash my car when it was raining. People used to look at me like I was a nutter (I am but that's beside the point...), the truth is though, if the cars already wet its easier to wash because the dirt is already loose and you can let the rain wash all the suds off saving you a job.

Yeah but rain doesn't do the inner arches and sills which is where the salt tends to attack:thumbsup:

I live in a flat, so it would be really strange for me to clamber down the stairs with a bucket of soapy suds and wash my car in the rain, The men with the big butterfly nets would be after me lol :-D
