I have mine up, much to my OH disgust. Me and my son begged until we got our way. My excuse is I am working christmas day so I want to celebrate early! Don't do what the sheep do.... do what your wife wants :D

first sunday in december-dont really know why-its just a family tradition so will be the fifth for us this year
#8

#10

i normally put mine up on the 1st december, i cant wait this year but no doubt i will spend half the day putting decorations back on the tree after my little girl pulls them all off lol

I'm gonna do it early this year - just because I want to see our latest kitten attack the tree.

Maybe look at first weekend in December.

OMG. Ours don;t even come out of the roof until Mid December, then we rifle through looking for the advent calendars that we forgot we had, then start sticking things up about 15th December (if I get my way - hubby would leave it until Christmas Eve). I do go a bit mad once I've started though, looks like Santa's grotto on speed. Not much in the way of lights though, a twinkly tree is enough for me.

Too early its still November!! We put ours up early December last year and we felt like they were up for ever. Our boys have their birthdays mid Dec so like them to celebrate that first :)

I'm the same - tree goes up 12 days before and down 12 days after (thought sometimes it does come down before then depending on my mood). My mum always did it when we were small and it was bad luck if you didn't (apparently!) so I just stuck with it as can't be doing with any more bad luck X)

Yer im told its bad luck to put it up before 12 days and to take it down after 12 days. And that if you dont take down your xmas decorations or xmas cards at this time they have to stay up for an extra 12 months to prevent bad luck hahaha

bout 5 days before christmas is when mine go up

Ditto the 12 days thing.. But since I had my son its worked its way back to the 1st instead.. But I try and do it on the nearest weekend. Either way it ends up with me doing the lot, from getting it all out the loft to putting it all up.. hardly puts me in the festive mood when I get watched over by Scrooge (the Mr!) lol!

Weekend of the 15th ours go up. Before that seems far too early, especially if you have kids, doesn't it just wind them up?

God me neither - it takes me all my time to get the stuff down from the loft and then untangle the lights etc (even though I put them away properly every year they're STILL tangled).

lol, somehow I don't think I'd get away with it, my kids & missus would string me up by my baubles from the top of the tree ! http://yoursmiles.org/tsmile/christmas/t07054.gif
