Is it too late to pick up an instrument?

Ive had a sudden urge to pick up the guitar.
Im 23 and work full time and have never played before so would need to get myself lessons.

Is it too late to start an instrument (considering i have no discernible musical talent)
If not how much do guitar tutors tend to cost (ball park as i know it will range)
How long does it take to get up to a decent standard (i know its not a short term thing and will vary from person to person yada yada, but on average?)

I would also like to play harmonica, but much harder to get tutors for i would imagine :P

I have a discipline issue when it comes to stuff like this. I have played sax, got to grade two once upon a time.
I have access to a guitar, its only a basic crappy one, but more than good enough to learn on.
so my outlay would be lessons i guess, im just curious about everything else!

Go for it, as long as you can put it the time; you can get really good in a couple of years. After that it's just a case of learning some of the more difficult augmented, suspected 7th chords etc. (The chords that can sound very harmonic, like the the GoGo Dolls; Iris [city of angels])

Trust me; after you've learnt the guitar, you'll find your own style; jazz, blue, roll, heavy metal, beatle, brit-pop (whatever you choose) and be the soul of any party

think you mean suspended chords rather than suspected although if it sounds jazzy youd be right to suspect it of being suspended
