no point whatsoever.

The only thing you will gain is blu-ray functionaliy.
and you can get that cheaper with a dedicated bluray player.

The exclusives aren't really worth the outlay if you already have an xbox

Yes, as you can do much more on a PS3 such as Blu-ray etc.
And has better exclusives like Uncharted 2 (Game of the year, graphics of the year and PS3 game of the year)
Metal gear solid etc

Much more..? Blu-Ray and Iplayer.
Thats it.

Fanboying it up much there?

Ps3 has exclusives, Xbox has exclusives.

at the end of the day since you already own the other console, its down to weather you want bluray or not really.

ok lets put it this way... If you own 2 consoles you will more than likely only play one.

How many games and peripherals do you have on the Xbox?
Do you prefer the PS3 or Xbox Controller?
Do you want Blu Ray?
Are you desperate for the PS3 exclusives?

If ou would be happy rebuying your games, like the PS3 controller more and you are willing to put a(what i would class as substantial) much larger amount down for a PS3 then go with it and sell the xbox.

if not keep the xbox and buy a blu-ray player.

By putting "etc", i'm not saying there is nothing else, that is only your assumption.
There are many reasons, but i wanted to give a short but to the point reply, i thought it would be appreciated.
Other reasons are built-in wireless, free online play, The exclusives are a much bigger point than you have both talked about, it looks better, it doesn't make a noise as loud, it doesn't brake down as much.

I could go on for much longer :)

I have both and would say it's a good thing.

360 i use as the main console and purely for gaming.

PS3 i use for watching blu-rays, exlcusives and blu-ray rips off the memory stick etc. :)

the xbox has things the PS3 doesnt as well. Like decent dedicated servers, better community system, skyplayer etc etc.

the only real advantage to the PS3 is the Blu Ray as the xbox doesnt have anything comparable.
and just incase anyone decides to bring out fanboy comments or whatnot. I have an xbox, i would prefer a PS3 if i didn't hate the controllers and it wasnt significantly more expensive.

I have a wireless adapter, the online is better im quite happy to pay for it, the noise is not an issue at all for me - its not even that loud. I appreciate the comment, just there aren't many advantages of getting a ps3 once you already have an xbox. RROD is an over exaggerated issue mainly on the older consoles, seeing as mine is new it's unlikely to get it

ive got both. xbox live is much better than ps3 on line (just my opinion) I use the ps3 game for blu-ray as my mates all have the 360 for on line play.
the ps3 is amazing though to be faar and if my mates werent on the 360, i would probably have gone for the ps3

so why not get yourself a dedicated player and save yourself over £100 :P

The PS3 DOES have much more benefits than the Xbox, as i have shown you in my previous post.
I'm not a fanboy, i'm just stating the facts.
If for example i said a Ferrari is better than a Fiat Panda, how could you call me a Ferrari fanboy?
Better community system? i'm guessing you mean more people play it? yes but most are 5 year olds.
Skyplayer? PS3 has PlayTV
And PS3 has good servers

Same as me, didn't consider ps3 for that reason, the big price tag didn't help either though

Saw a PS3 for £150 in fs/ft, not far off most blurays, for the extra features was wondering what a ps3 actually offers that an xbox doesnt

I've had mine for over 2 years, the PSN has only been down about twice due to FW updates, wich of course it expected.
You must have had a problem with your local settings. as i would have recieved "countless PSN downtimes" too.

Basically, there's enough exclusives on both to make them both worthwhile, both in terms of features and games.

No, i have had only one time where the FW update was quite long, but that was because there was so many people doing the same at that time. so i just waited until later to download.
Usually an update takes about 10 minutes, sometimes less depending on your Internet speeds.

you are not, you are simply stating its better because it has features you like. FANBOY.
Be objective

PS3 has I-Player
Xbox has Sky Player

PS3 Has Exclusives
Xbox has exclusives

PS3 has Poorer online play to xbox but is free
Xbox has superior online but you have to pay.

PS3 has poor customer service + warenty replacement
Xbox has actually pretty good customer service + warenty replacement

PS3 has a controller style
Xbox has a controller style

PS3 Has Blu-Ray
Xbox has HD-DVD.. which you have to buy and is a dead format.

Xbox has a superior community features
Ps3 doesnt really have one

Xbox has things like 1 vs 100 and decent regular deals on arcade games
PS3 allows you to download purchaced content on several consoles

I could go on.. i really could.

Its all swings and roundabouts depending on what you want from a console. you weigh up the pros and cons of what is good for you. The only thing the PS3 clearly beats the xbox on is Bluray

Im beginning to think you are an idiot.
you get what you pay for.. yea ... a games console that can play blu ray.

you spend £100 you get £100 less of value as there is no console attached genius.
or are you implying that the only thing a PS3 is good for is an expensive blu ray player?

better upscaler on dvd, can play BD stream media from network, wired or wirelessly plays rips off memory stick and its quiet so you dont have a mahuuusive fan whirring when your tryin to watch a film in the middle of the night.

Xbox for gaming and online gaming fo sho

Correct. it all depends on what you want, what you are going to use and if you are willing to pay for it.

Do you call everyone a "fanboy" every time you are wrong?
You are forgetting many things in your list such as free wi-fi built in, HDD upgradable to a few hundred GB, no RROD and more.
Why is PSN poorer compared to Live? it does the same thing, only you get charged zero pennies.
Can you play the current Game of the Year on a 360? No as you need a PS3. The 360 has a limit on how well it can play games, hence the PS3 having better exclusives due to it's power.
You can't fit Metal gear solid etc on a DVD.

Controllers are just peripherals, we are only talking about the console here. Besides, you can purchase third party controllers.
And the price, well in theory, the 360 is more expensive than a PS3 over the long run.

Have to buy a Wi-Fi adapter for wireless internet
Yearly subscriptions of Live.
Controller charge kit

It easily surpasses the PS3's one-off price

And i guess your price quote is reffering to the lesser quality models? well an Elite is more comparable to a PS3, which are around the same price. But of course, you still have the above added prices.

i said i could go on.

Xbox has RROD which has free waranty cover
PS3 has YLOD which you need to pay through the nose to get repaired.

PSN is more frequently down the XBL and isnt as well maintained as XBL. but as you have said its free. if being free is important the ps3 is better if not then its the xbox.

I dont uncharted 2. played it, didnt care for it... big whoop. so that point is insignificant. exclusives are only important to the person buying not as to what console is better. I very much enjoy Halo 3... can i play that on PS3.. no. as ive said.. Swings and roundabouts.

You are missing the point im making that the only thing that the ps3 really ACTUALLY "wins" on is blue ray. the rest comes down to personal preference, need and financial outlay.

What about yellow light of death ? Xbox live is more reliable, better servers, easier to talk to and connect to friends, arcade games, new features always coming up like 1 vs 100, a community, and free microphones so not 1 in 50 people have one.. the 250GB hardrive is pretty big, I have 120GB and only use about 80, if I cleared some stuff probably 60. The extra cost of the ps3 covers the poor built in wireless. Xbox has exclusives that PS3 doesnt as well. Just because this year it happens to be a ps3 game doesnt mean theres no good exclusives/games for xbox 360. Havent played uncharted 2 but seems like it a game you like or don't like, similar to gears of war. Because its game of the year doesnt automatically make it good

why are you trying to make this an argument?

in relation to your points..
My console is wired (i dont like wireless it can be flaky) so no need for wireless.
i have a rechargeable battery and a charger that i had and sed before i had an xbox.
the cost is something im willing to pay for a superior service.

and further to the quoted points:
massive hard drive? i have a 20gb on mine and still have 5gb spare. more than sufficient for me.

Personally the Xbox is the best console for me AT THE MOMENT in my current situation. is it the best overall? No, does that make the ps3 better? No. because that is up to personal preference.

just because these are what i chose to do does not make the xbox the best console. nor does it make the PS3 better on the contrary for you.

RROD failures occur almost 10 times more than YLOD failures. That is a more important fact than a warraty statement.
I would rather my console not be broken at all, rather than praise Microsoft for offering warranties
PSN is more frequently down? erm where is evidence on this as i ave already stated that i have never had problems with this.
You was not impressed with Uncharted 2 but prefer Halo 3? that speaks for itself how little you admire quality.

Every console every made, and every console to be made in the future WILL have failures of a certain percentage. it's the percentage amount that needs to be considered, and the RROD's amount is shocking.
Free microphones? more of a negative i say as like i explained before, there are a lot of kids using them which is disturbing, i'd rather play with grown ups who usually have better things to say rather than yell.
Built-in wireless is not poor, my PS3 is far from my Router, yet i get almost 100% signal, even through a few walls.

Why start a thread asking for peoples advise on a particular product, then all you do is slate the product with a large amount of reasons?
Sounds like you created this thread as A. to start a "console war", or B. try to have a Pro-Xbox 360 thread

I have a 360, PS3, two Wii's (Black & white), Phat PSP, Two Slim PSP's (Black & white) and two DS lites.

I want to sell them all bar the 360 and be a fanboy, it sounds like fun. :)
