Hi We have found a sega mega drive with games in the back of the cupboard. It still works, but we really have no space for it. Is it worth trying to sell it or should I just bin it? Had a quick look at cex and they don't list them so no help there. Thanks for any help.

if you have all the cables etc its worth selling

Really depends on the games you have with it- they are where the money may be at. The hardware is worth very little these days, assuming it is a standard edition pal v1 or v2 of course.

gamestation buy 'retro' consoles. might not get much for it, but if your considering binning it, it's more than you would have got

If you are going to bin it you could put it on a yahoo site called freecycle. Its a site people to use to give away their unwanted usable items instead of going the tip and poluting the earth. Its sorted by region so it will only be people that live in your area that can see the message and you choose who to give it to. The site is freecycle.org and is free to use.

"LET OUR POWERS COMBINE!"
"HEART!" Poor kid, imagine giving the south american boy the love ring. We all know what he grew up to be, and it involves big floats and huge bananas.

I think my husband has decided to drop it into gamestation, they are offering about £6 for the console and then will value the games separately. Its not alot like someone said earlier but its another box of junk cleared, in my quest to make the house junk free! Thanks everyone for your help.

Why not make a sale post here for it? Put it up as local collect only or somethin.

Seems like a lot of hassle for something that has so little value. I struggle with the whole ebay thing, and that is more straightforward than the FS/Ft forum on here. I just know I would fluff the rules or something and end up in oblivion! I don't think I could manage without wandering through all the deals if I got a ban!.

Thanks for the suggestion though. Maybe I will be brave enough to try selling here one day. :)

I loved Streets of Rage twas an awesome game.

Ah well no probs.
You can still look at the site even with a ban! You just can't post on it, no that I'm suggesting you should try to get banned...I'll shut up now.

As said earlier, post a list of games, some are worth £50 plus. It might be a longshot but better than getting ripped off by some sales assistant who spots a bargain.
