Is it worth selling this laptop?

I've just upgraded my laptop and now have a 'spare' which I can't see myself ever needing again, I'm just not sure its worth much so I'm looking for some idea on if its worth trying to sell or if I should hang on to it or what!

Its a Dell Latitude D600, 1.69Ghz Pentium 'M', 1GB ram, on-board graphics, built in wireless and bluetooth, CDRW, not a bad little machine all in all and quite capable of running Vista (which I've had on it for months with no issues)

BUT...

I'm taking the HD out and I'll be using it in an enclosure as a portable drive
The right hinge on the lid is broken, it still works but you have to be careful otherwise that side of the screen comes loose
Theres some cosmetic damage to the case, but nothing that effects function, worn keys, a couple of scratches and a small crack in the palm rest

I've seen them going, reconditioned, for almost £200 on ebay, I know this one isnt worth that, but what IS it worth in its current state? Would I be better getting a small, cheap HD to pop in before selling it?

I'd say about £50 with no HD and £80 with

I think a HD with preloaded OS is prob a good idea - I'd only be interested in something like this as laptop for the kids and I wouldn't want the bother of upgrades etc. Don't know about value...

See, a cheap IDE HD is going to cost me £30 minimum, so it hardly seems worth it really. I guess I could hang on to it as a media server or something...

Thats kind of what I'm trying to figure out from this thread, I'd be happy with around £80 inc P&P though

Yeh, i've watched a couple go for around £150-£160, that would be great to get that. Think i might try on here before i go to ebay.

Good luck with selling yours.

It'd have to be without to be honest, like I said the cheapest (new) HD I can find is £30 and I don't really want to be spending anything on it when I'm selling it.

bearing in mind its pretty heavy and will probably cost a tenner or more postage (with insurance etc) I don't think thats too bad a price.
