I keep getting told how much i have ruined the meal by putting ketchup on my roast dinner.

Why is it so bad?

Heres to hoping there are people on here who also use ketchup with a sunday roast.

It's weird, but the thing is, if it makes the food taste better to you, then so what? :)

Having said that, if you stop having the ketchup for a period of time, you may find that you discover that the food does taste better as your palate adjusts and you get to experience a wider range of flavours that you may not currently notice/be aware of.

Each to their own.
My local chinese does the best ever barbeque sauce. If that was bottled i'd put it on everything.
Not one for tommy sauce though.

Yeah i see where your coming from, because to me things that are nice only get nicer when ketchup is added :)

Sorry to those who see it as odd i am just probably too ignorant to notice food without ketchup... must be bad table etiquette if there is such thing!

I used to use a lot of ketchup (although wouldnt ruin a roast with it!) until I gave it up for lent - used fresh tomato on burgers and nothing with other stuff. Started to actually taste the food! Dont use half as much now.

I have mayo with my roast, in my opinion its no different having sauce instead of gravy! I dont like gravy and a roast needs a little sauce!
