Am thinking of switching to Orange Broadband from Sky. Has anyone got any good/bad experiences to share?
What are their customer services like?
Thanks xx

customer service horrendous, if everything goes well all is ok, but if you need to contact them you will spend pounds on calls, they are useless

I'm with orange but couldn't tell you what their customer services are like as I've never had a problem with them. I was with them when it was Wannado, then Freeserve & Orange to the present day.

might be worth a look here first for any issues orangeproblems.co.uk

i have always spoke to indian call centres and even when you can understand them they are useless, i have spent hours on the phone with them over the years, and they go over the same crap every time, even when they promise they wont, they still do, like i say when its good its good, but should you ever need technical help you will regret being with them

I posted a deal for Orange broadband a few weeks ago that included £100 Quidco. The deal got slated because there was a lot of people saying they were a terrible ISP. There was a couple of positive comments from happy customers but they were few and far between.

Nah, its in India. A real pain to deal with, but they do normally sort you out eventually. As with RichP, i've been with them since the Freeserve & Wannado days - never had a major problem.

They also dont seem to track your browsing/ downloading. When I rang them to upgrade, they told me my current download limit was 1GB (this was a few years ago), and that I'd never gone near that. With my love of films/music, that was not true...

They tryed to charge me over £125 for broadband even when I had not even been with freeserve for more than 5 years, they sent letters from debt collectors aswell, this took 3 months to sort out and they was keep ringing me aswell the debt collectors and they was very rude on there aswell, orange said it was a mix up in the end and gave £30 would never use anything on orange again.

I will reiterate what has been said about their technical support. Dire doesn't begin to describe it. I was once transferred to a 'head supervisor' who had to 'authorise' me to use a 'last resort' option in trying to fix my Livebox. Which turned out to be resetting it. I kid you not.

To be honest the issue that I've had with them, and indeed the issues that most people seem to have with them, is in relation to the Livebox. It is hands down the worst router, if not worst piece of technical equipment period, that I have ever used. I went through three of them before deciding that the problem is simply that it is very poorly manufactured. I decided to use a router of my own choosing and have had no problems since.

My advice would simply be to get your own router; providing you do that you should be fine.

Make sure you don't throw away the live-box though or they will charge you for it if you ever leave them and don't send it back.

was with them for a few years (started on freeserve then wanadoo then orange, must admit they werent too bad only had a few connection drops in the time we were with them, only left them as they decided to reduce the bandwidth we were receiving from 6mb to under 1mb as they said we were downloading too much even though we werent and as said above their cust service is utter crap.

I haven't; it's sitting in a closet. That was a good thing to point out though; probably should have put it in my original post.

Orange have the worst reputation of all BB suppliers, even worse than Talk Talk.
