I would not buy individual DIMMS (new or second hand).

Always buy them in pairs from the same company (make).

Even though all DIMMs are suposed to be the same each company makes them slightly differently and having them from different companies can cause problems.

It is the same type, but as mentioned above you should try to get same manufacturer/model if you want to run it in dual channel mode.

Also be cautious of buying from ebay, not everyone will take antistatic precautions which could mean you end up with static damaged memory.

no DDR and DDR2 RAM are different

There's something wrong with the listings as you can't have DDR2 184 pin - DDR2 ram is 240 pin for desktops, DDR1 is 184 pin (confusingly laptop sodimm ram is 200 pins for both)

oops missed the pc2 part.
But if they're both have the same number of pins then they should be the same type.

TBH to the op, avoid getting different sticks and just buy what you want as a pair.

the person on ebay's obviously made a mistake then, he selling them used and says its working, but it would cost 50% more if i bought it new.... is anti static protection really needed for ram..? and yup i'll be buying them as a pair.. its not the same make as the pair I already have.. but that shouldn't matter, should it?

Email him before u bid/buy PC23200 is DDR2 and PC3200 is DDR1. Although the pin numbers are the same you don't know which he has made the mistake with (the pin # or the pc2 bit).
