What is it aimed to do? Does it tone you or just chill you out? Does it work for you?

I have been the same, Doesnt really catch my eye but its the only class on a wed night, Other than Boxercise but I would just look an idiot doing that lol

I have done the gym for ages now and starts a bums and tum class on a monday, Just want to do that little bit extra but not sure what. Looking on the net, Pilates mainly deals with posture, breathing and relaxing, Dont think It will do what im after it doing lol

steps is really good, its hard to begin with but once u get the hang of it its really a good workout
i have tried pilates but it bored me i think it tones u but doesnt help to lose weight

My mum started it about 4 months ago. Shes 50 and gyms three times a week min. She said it is amazing. Despite it being slow movement, u actually work really hard and you have to control your core. Works wonders from what i've heard so far. Dad even tried it on holiday, said it is surprisingly hard.

Also, you wont look an idiot doing boxercise. Trust me. Not everyone is a professional. I jsut got bk from a Sports resort and was forced to try boxercise. Was great fun, and despite being a bit behind at the start, you soon get the hang of it. Def worth a try, and that is great for losing weight, thats if you need too or not :)

Pilates is good for core stability & flexibility I do it once a week, but you need to combine it with Cardio and some other resistance work.

OP if you re asking if you will lose weight and tone up from pilates alone then the answer is a no

Have never been but i have heard Pilates is excellent.

It strengthens core muscles and tones.
Also good for people with back problems and things like that.

Let us know how you get on

I do the gym most days just for an hour in the mornings apart from fri, sat sun. Then the bums and tums session which is hard going, plus i do Slimming world so ideally I was wondering if this would help tone around my tum area

Thanks all for your advice, I may go give it a try tonight :)

Yeh for sure. Alot of the exercises are working the abbs. Holding for long periods of time etc. Depending on whether ur looking to tone or lose the weight. IF ur the Michelin man u wont visibly notice any diff part from maybe feeling stronger in the area. But if u got a bit of excess then u should see it become more toned

I go to pilates once a week and really enjoy it. It won't help you lose weight but it's good for toning and flexibility and will really work your stomach muscles.

I think I will call them and book it for next week to try it out, In a way I was looking forward to it tonight, But ended up doing a run for 30 mins then coming home, Bit of a let down, I will try again next week :)

I always have to book into my class as well, because it's really popular. I would definitely recommend you give it a go! You'll feel it the day after and know you've worked your muscles!
