im tempted to purchase this camera as my first DSLR, im a little worried it only has 6mp but some of the stills i have viewed from it are very nice.. im reckoning i can pick one up cheap, any reason i shouldnt? anything else i should go for instead?

6mp is more than enought unless you plan on blowing the pics up beyond A4 size

ive read this and hear it all the time, it also means the cameras going to be better in lower light no? id just feel much more comfortable with a couple more for ease of mind....

incidently would this mean as the pictures a much lower resoultion the would take up much less space on a memory card

i bought one this year as my first dslr, absolutely love it, great camera

Brilliant SLR, easily the best in the price range (£200), with an unbeatable flash sync speed, fantastic image quality, and a great tightly made body
Love mine to bits, and as you can see from my Flickr, I've got some nice images from just the stock lens and little/no editing!

I had one a couple of years ago, but sold it as I wasn't using it enough to justify it.

Fantastic image quality. If you're after a budget dslr, you can't go far wrong with a d40 or d50.

Don't forget limited cropping ability with a lower MP camera. Not always an issue but something to be aware of.
