I'll say this about it - if you're after an ultra-slim TV, then go for it.

Don't buy it thinking it's an LED TV- it's not. It's still LCD but with an LED backlight.

If a few cm in thickness doesn't make much difference to you, spend the money on a good plasma - you won't regret it.

You can get some nice 50" Plasma TVs:

LG 50PS3000 for £740 - http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/2681840/art/lg/50ps3000-plasma-screen.html?srcid=369. 1080p Plasma panel too.

Panasonic TXP50X10B for £749 - http://www.rgbdirect.co.uk/ProductDetails.asp?SKUNumber=107889&Model=Panasonic-TXP50X10B.

I would recommend either of the two (and you can probably get them cheaper elsewhere) - either way they're sub £750, saving you a massive amount of money.

Both were true about 10 years ago.

Plasma's these days have around 100,000 hour lifespan (which is about 30 years based on 8 hours per day).
