I did phone a local Renault garage and they quoted £15 for this, just wondered if there's a cheaper/free option.

Many thanks for any advice, rep given for good suggestions.

I assume it's not with all the paperwork, info that came with the car?

It may also be worth taking the unit out (if possible) to check no -one has put it on there in the past.

Other than that it's either a dealer or over the net.

If you have the handbook then it's usually inside the front cover. :)

I remember a long time ago that i was told put it in the freezer or something like that ??? i don't expect you to try it though :w00t:

the freezer trick used to work because it reset the eeprom that holds the code, you didn't make it up. there are programs arond that can give you the code. you can also try renault forums. but try taking the radio out a little as you'd be amazed how many people write the code on the radio itself

Still would have lost the power to the radio and would therefore need the code.

ways around this, you can piggy back another battery to provide power whilst you switch battery. loads of garages do this as a matter of course when switching batteries

we have a gadget @ work that plugs into the cigar lighter & provides enough power to keep the radio coded whilst swapping the battery.
