I posted a note few days ago on google checkout forum saying that the best thing on ebuyer with google ckeckout is that the postage to Northern Ireland is same as Mainland . After that the strange thig i have seen is that ebuyr has updated the site and now they charge extra for delivery to Northern Ireland.

I wonder is there a mole in HOTUKDEALS who have informed them. we have seen people doing this kind of nonsense before on the forums :x

HUKD has nearly 50,000 members and around 1,500 'guests' at any one time. This is an open forum, anybody could read your posts.
You should have kept quiet.:-(

It's a public forum with thousands of members - and non members browsing. Some merchants do look too. Nothing on here is a secret, nor should it be. If you want to make a select group of people with lesser pockets of info there are other websites that cater to this.

I didn't realise that Goodman, I didn't see your post! Wish I had, would have bought stuff :?

I'm sure there are a few companies who are savvy enough to have deal alerts or as RSS feed for any deals that are for their company...

If you are with so confidence than you will be right. But i was so happy as i don't have to pay extra stupid £10 for an item from ebuyer. the funniest part is that royal mail don't charge anything extra to deliver to belfast.
[admin]#8
Well the upside is Goodman that if you complain about it then they will see that too hehe :)

Personally I think if it doesn't cost them more to ship it the surcharge is just flat out wrong. I know a lot of stores do it but that doesn't make it better.
#9
Well, if they are using Royal Mail, then there is no surcharge to NI. But I thought they used couriers, who charge them extra.
#10
From personal experience, all couriers surcharge for NI, but good old R/M don't.
I do know that saverstore watch this site also. :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

A lot of companies charge extra to deliver were I live aswell, 2 companies I used quite a bit : Scan and Microdirect to name a few.

I'd imagine Ebuyer will now charge extra to.

It doesn't cost any extra to deliver here at all, Its just blatant profiteering.

that really sickens me,,,,,,,its the same on flea-bay,,,,as soon as the seller finds out you live in n-ireland they hike up their postage costs,,that really gets my goat up,so for any flea-bayers who read this post,,,,,,northern ireland is part of the uk,,we use pounds & pence,,,a first class stamp costs 32p,we speak english,an we also have sky tv,tescos, sainsburys asdas, ect ect,,, SO PLEASE GET EDUCATED,AN STOP ROBBING THE GOOD PEOPLE OF ULSTER

so the best way to avoid letting a company in on the deal is to not put the deal as belonging to them....then you get more time to take advantage of the deal without their rss feed picking it up? (that's presuming they arent paying someone to sit on here watching for stuff all day)
#15
Well the direct links wouldn't work then, as HUKD deals are set up in a certain way...

well said.

If ebayers have 1 charge for UK delivery, then charge more for NI, they're breaking the law imho.

UK = Northern Ireland & Great Britain, any official definition will confirm this and Royal Mail do not charge more as you said so anyone in N.I. who does come up against that should threaten to report them to ebay for theft as well as fraud.

the problem with these site is that they gen write as UK mainland only.
#21
Couriers charge a lot more for NI and the Highlands etc, if the item is over 5KG, to be honest it's not worth sending to NI. R/M will charge just over £16 but a Courier would charge just over £25. If the same item was going to a Mainland address then it could go by Courier for around £10.00.
