#3
It has always been a rule that you has to put a pic in as far as i remember
#4
(5) Please Post Images (click for details) including a piece of paper with your user name and date next to the actual items for sale. This helps your sale or trade by showing the condition, establishing validity and also that you have the items in your possession. If you post an eBay image or are unable to post any images, we may pull the listing immediately to request further information.

it hasnt always been a rule, but now as pic requests are seen as bumps you need to psot pics

It's annoying the amount of people who just don't read it who are long serving members and who are newish and have feedback from sales. Surely if you were buying an item from me you what want to see the condition or even If I had the item.
#8
ive sold tons of things without pics and never had a problem
#9
just have the pic ready when you post the item for sale,I can't see why people can't do it.....

because they prefer people to ask, it bumps the thread without the op having to bump, although that isnt going to happen anymore:w00t:

There cracking down on it, to many scammers on here making money off no pics so I think it should be, if deemed an item that needs pics.

Well, just looked through the 1st page of the FS/FT forum, and the mods must all be offline, because most do not have photo's, and are not locked.

Scammers are brighter than the average HUKD'er. "No pictures" would not cut down scammers for more than a week.

If I believed it was a rule, then I would.
As it is, I don't believe it is, and have never seen a mod say it is, so I won't waste mine and their time.

I'll try to answer the above points, and apologise in advance If I miss any follow up comments. I'll be here to deal with those when they inevitably arise.

Pics are not mandatory.

They are used to promote a sale, also to further confirm that the OP is in possession of the item(s) at the time of posting. Primarily they give an indication as to the condition of the item for sale. As such, sellers should anticipate requests for pictures and reserve post(s) at time of the thread creation, post #2 normally.

Failure to provide a photo at the time of listing will normally be treated as a bump should a subsequent request be made from another member. If not placed in the reserved post then an additional bump is likely to occur.

The intention is to prevent unfair promotion of threads by OPs, some who may deliberately avoid publishing photos in order to gain bumps by other members requesting. We are taking a common sense approach. For an expensive item, I'd always expect a pic to accompany the listing. For a low price individual cd, probably not.

If a mod requests a pic then it is mandatory. The thread will remain locked until supplied. Should a potential buyer request a pic and the OP fails to oblige or is not forthcoming with a reasonable explanation, that listing will be pulled.

I hope this explains the thought process behind the rule, but I'll try to deal with any issues arising from the above.

Someone is unlikely to try and scam, or try and get their thread unfairly bumped thread for a £2.99 CD as much as they would scam or bump a thread for an i-phone.

But they might do it to get some feedback before the big scam. Seen it before!

the point is, it should be across the board, everyone should have an equal chance to sell their goods no matter what they are selling, look down the locked threads they are not all for expensive items, i would say, if anything, they arent for expensve items, most people selling expensive items do actually add pics, so as far as trying to make it fair on the bumping lines you are wrong, as for the scams on here most i have seen being scammed are not for expensive items, usually lots of little ones

My suggestion = Follow the Rules and guidelines. I have never seen anyone scammed that followed them. :)

Of course they would as someones pointed out for the bigger scam.

People still get scammed following the guidlines. People falsify details all the time. I always report potential scammers.

I think they should consider inforcing photos, I wouldn't pay for certain things without them or feedback.

If you can point out where this has happened on HUKD, let me have a look.

Again, if you can point this out, I will have a look at this as well. I have NEVER seen someone who followed the guidelines and rules be scammed on HUKD.

Then don't buy from sellers who don't have photos, or no feedback. :)

Can't on the first as there usually banned. Unless you have access to admin files then I very much doubt you can verify it either way. It happens all the time on other forums and on eBay. If you believe it doesn't fine, no skin off my nose, but I will continue to report OP's for shaky information or miss information.

Second point I don't keep reference points on past discussions as its none of my business to do so I am not a Mod or don't claim to be with my responses, but it happens and will continue to happen either way. If you’re naive enough to think it doesn't then fine doesn't really affect me.

You also know that Admin’s will not discuss any past experiences or references to any transaction that has taken place in the forums.

I don't and IF I do which has no relevance to this, I approach the sale differently 9/10 asking if they will post the item first as I have sufficient feedback to do so.
#35
What makes me laugh is
'A photo to prove you have it'

I could show you my iPhone with my name next to it..

Still doesn't mean I'm going to send it..

Banned users threads in the FS/FT forum remain. No Admin files required.
Please point them out.

I have never said to anyone that they should stop reporting what they believe to be a scam waiting to happen.

The easiest way to show me it happens is to give proof.
Since this is your reasoning to wanting pics as a mandatory feature, the onus is on you to prove what you are saying is correct.

Just saying "It happens" is a poor response.

Also incorrect.
#37
Theres not point going on as I can't back this up currently, but I don't spend my time debating irrelevant points.

I haven't got an answer for everything.

- How would you search for a banned user with this exact criteria? Would like to know that one, would be useful.

"Also incorrect."

- How so? When do they go into specific details over serious breaches?
