If your internet is "messed" then how are you going to download them from your pc? Are you really asking if you can download demos without having to update the firmware first? (_;)

Oh ok, but you'll still need to go the store yeh? Which shouldn't be a prob as you just enter your details.

No as i can just download on my laptop and then transfer to ps3 when i get home.

No.

You could host them on your PC & set your DNS address(es) on the PS3 to connect to a File Server of Proxy Server "PS3 community" project running on the PC.

Which System Software version are you using on your PS3?

Hence I won't bother responding further here.

Sorry to have bothered you. Good luck with Google.

This would have been a good response except a lot of stuff you say is incorrect, making your comment invalid.

Maybe you should start participating in a forum with a different 'Uniform Resource Locator' to this one.

If you have a jailbroken/earlier firmware to 3.42 then this might help though this would pose risks if you were to go back online once your internet is fixed (depending on whether Sony are actually banning users who've hacked their consoles and how stringent they are per user).

http://www.ps3-hacks.com/2010/09/16/psn-demo-installer-released-install-demos-on-your-hacked-ps3/

I personally don't think it's worth such effort and potential risk for a demo.

I assume you rather not wait for your internet to be fixed so suggesting using Media Go (if even possible) is not an option. I'm aware that you can download PSP content from a PC to transfer over to a PSP but don't know if the same applies for PS3 content.

Hmm... last option:
Bring your console to a mates house with working internet if you want the demo that promptly.

Good luck bob100,
Scar

PS:
May I ask what demo are you interested in?
