The car I have now is insurance group 17,is it the higher the group number the higher the insurance? as i'm looking at a car tonight that is a group 14 so would the insurance be lower or would i have to go through and get a quote to find out?

Yes, the higher the number, the higher the insurance.

Insurance groups go from 1 to 20, 20 being the highest and most expensive. So the car your looking at will be cheaper to insure.

I had a cockatoo once lol the thing hated my guts,my hubby had got me the bird as a present and it decided it was in love with my hubby and wouldnt even allow me to be in the same room! I used to dress up in hubbys bike elathers and lid just to walk into the same room the bird was in

This site is quite useful, you can select the group and then find what cars are available in that group.
Handy if you run a few online insurance quotes and find which group you are going to be limited to.
