Is there any media streamer out there than can play .avi's through scart?

Looking for a media streamer where i can upload (via , USB) .avi onto, and stream on a CRT tv.

Is there any out there?

Or via s-video.

    Care to explain a bit more please........
    I ask that since my desktop pc is connected to my crt tv via s-video (out) to scart (in) and i can use it as a pc desktop, or to watch streaming tv, films etc or have i got the wrong end of the stick as usual

    Get an old Xbox and load XBMC onto it or even use a 360 if you only want to play AVIs

    Need something easy like a western digital media streamer thing, except just for .avi

    Cheap , small and not power hungry. ( For a little kid's room)

    what about an ipod video gen5?

    thats what i used to use? just video out straight to tv or even from ipod dock?!

    Actually, whats the deal with an old xbox?

    Can i just plug a usb and run .avi straight away ( If XBMC is installed on it of course.)

    Yeah you can, you'd need to buy an Xbox to USB cable though, that or make your own.

    Think i might go for the old xbox. The reviews on that sata are saying the video quality is quite poor.

    Take it i can pick up one of those "xbox to usb" cables on ebay?

    Ive been looking about and can only find ones that play divx/mp4 and i need something where i wont have to convert the films i have downloaded.

    The films you have are probably divx.

    Yeah you can get cheap DVD players that will play AVI files from disc or a USB stick/HDD.

    I think Aldi does one for not very much at all.

    Funnily enough i checked in Aldi, couldnt find any.

    Wandered around all the store's my way and couldnt find anything decent!
