Simple answer : yes

You can either go to maplins and pay through the nose for an extender cable kit or shop around and find it cheaper

This will do it £5.49 at Argos though 10m is probably far longer than you need.

Maplins do 1.5 m cables for £4.99 but I don't know if they contain the F-Type connector as well.

The cables are about £2 delivered off fleabay but again you will also need the connector

It'll be fine. It's just that the standard cabling isn't up to carrying the HD picture (from dish to box).

Now??

You know you won't get a HD signal through this cable don't you?

PMSL you are joking right ?

#19
Yeah you need 2 cables for sky+ or sky hd, can you just cut in half and get new connectors ?

It seems you were wrongly advised in the first place and I wrongly agreed. From digital spy: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=31152971&postcount=2

So it seems you need 2 argos sets for Sky+ or SkyHD. As I wrongly agreed with the incorrect advice I am prepared to go halves with Barneydog to pay for your second one. PM your email and I'll send my half via Paypal Gift.

no, you will get a signal but it won't be HD, for that you have to use a HDMI cable.

carley, we are only talking about the cable from the dish to the sky box.

But it's largely irrelevant as she doesn't have HD and anyway the dual cabling she has is for sky+ and skyHD (I think?)
#23
Is there such a thing as HDMI extension leads?

What im saying is if the cable you bought from argos is too long you could cut it in half and just get new connectors and make up the 2nd cable yourself

Yes I appologise for that, for Sky+ you will need 2 cables - I only read your OP where it said Sky not later on where you said you had Sky+, I should have taken more notice.

If you PM me your PP email I'll send the money ASAP.

lol, a few tinnies and a bottle of wine saw to that

HDMI is not the only thing in the world that can carry a HD signal its just handy it wraps sound and video into one neat cable so that people dont get confused :)
#28
Im probably a bit late, but these cables are nice and neat as the two cables you need are joined together
