Ive just agreed to £30 a month, 18 month contract, for unlimited txt, 800 minutes, 500mb browsing per month, plus the HTC hero Graphite, for which i had to pay £20 up front.

Have i been ripped off! I have 7 days to change my mind!

Seemslike a fair deal to me, i would have tried for a free phone but still a good deal IMO

sounds good, hero is a superb phone, closest you get to iphone without paying as much
#3
yes you have been ripped off...i currently have the hero on t-mob for £25 per month with unlt text, 700mins and 1gb of data, that may even be the 3gb not really sure and did not pay anything for the phone....18 month contract...go back and haggle or cancel..

How long have you been with them? This is only my second year! you may have more loyalty points than i had, or pay higher bills on top of contract price. (Thats the crap they spewed to me when i told them I know of people who have better contracts than me, with better phones and for a better price) But no matter how many times i phoned up to try it with different people none of them would budge!

Tell the full story though.........

T-mobile were bursting for new business late last year so did crazy deals at times.

Also were you "retained" or a new customer to T-mobile when you signed?

Retention deals arent always necessarily available to all

Well if your current contract is £20 a month and you dont spend over that then they wont try as hard as someone with a £35 contract who regularly goes £10-20 over the £35

t mobile aint the best for offering anything, usually offer exactly what you can walk into a store and get
#8
So is the general consensus that this is a good deal then?
#9
Well its a better deal than i can gt, but i'm a new customer.

The best orange customer services could provide was £35 a month,

I know i can get a better deal with t-Mobile but i'm just unsure about their overall network coverage (as opposed to spot checking postcodes)

Whereas i know orange has a good overall network coverage , and orange wednesdays is good, but i get a lot less for the money so i'm a bit torn atm

In FACT!

you have a rubbish deal:

on their websitethey are doing 800mins, unltd text for £25 with free hero, then add in the internet package = £30 per month.

you've been had buddy

Not massively, the £20 quid for the phone yes, but mainly ive been had as in ive had nothing as a loyalty bonus, thanks for pointing it out tho, im gonna have murder with them on lunch, ill let you know how it goes, if they wont budge ill go with tmob, plus £35 quidco i think!
#13
Had murder with them on the phone but their not havin none of it, they said if I send it back they will put me back on my old contract, I then have to give 30 days cancellation notice, which means they'll charge me another £20 quid, so the 20 quid back I get from what i paid for the phone will only go on that!

But if I did do that and went with t-mobile I would get quidco money! So its wether its worth the hassle and the waiting for the £35 quidco! (If it is that much)

Plus it’s the principle, they called me a liar! and have give me f-all for my loyalty!
#14
Exactly my friend, i was not saying the deal you got was bad, but being a renewing customer it's rubbish that he deal you got is worse (albeit only a bit) than a new customer?!

The fact that they won't even refund the £20 charge for the phone is crazy.

I'm stuck with 200 minutes unlt txt and internet for £30 if i want a free hero on orange, which i do lol

or i can pay £20 for the phone and get 400 minutes but i'm not convinnced i'll use them what with the magic number

Wonder how long before we get a hero deal with internet and decent txt & minutes for £25?
#15
Apparently the 500mb i got is orange's unlimited browsing, i wanna know what t-mobile's unlimited is though!

If its better i think i will go through the hassle of changing, ill still be up money wise, if i get 35 from quidco, less about £5 for sending the phone back to Orange recorded delivery, thats £30 quid in my pocket!

Im gonna phone up a few times again tonight though and see if i can get my £20 back!

Exactly 1 month after we accept a £30 deal, lol!

On the subject of orange 500mb, ive been with orange on the hero for a while and it can fair eat up the MB especially if, like me, you get bored and watch youtube vids etc

Ive frequently went over 500MB and never heard anything from them about it.

Cool thats something to note! Ill just keep a track of it on my bill as well!
Ive worked it all out now and it will work out cheaper to bite the bullet and stick with the contract i have!

Do you think without the youtube vid watching you would have stayed under the limit? i'm not fussed about youtube but a bit concerned of going over and getting charged.

So your with Orange at the moment? In which case i think you got a good deal as to get that many minutes etc from Orange for that price is good considering their normal packages.
