Good, another I've bought it, was it worth it post.

Why not ask before it closes?

It was worth it to your 'mate' that's all that counts.

doesn't seem too be bad for a 16gb model

although im not sure and someone may correct me but i thought if you sync the iphone with your own itunes it will delete all existing apps

also i would be reluctant to pay by bank transfer as you won't be covered if something goes wrong and make sure they post by special delivery as on the the listing it says 1st class standard

Looks like bg1 wrote that desription.

Personally I am always a bit wary of 1 day auctions (I'm cynical and think they are trying to get rid of something fast and not giving you enough time to think about it)

At a quick glance the seller has put he's sending it 1st class,on that amount of money the item isn't insured it needs to be sent Special Delivery.

Also this on the auction would put me right off :

Please email me before u make payment through paypal.

I'm not convinced it's a scam as the seller wants BT but hey ho,it aint allowed on Ebay NOT to accept Paypal,so who knows.

If your friend doesn't pay via Paypal he's hardly got any recourse if the item isn't as described or if it doesn't turn up.

If your friend buys the item tell him he must pay by Paypal and ask for the item to be sent via Special Delivery so it's tracked.

If your friend pays for this auction by Bank Transfer they are very silly indeed. It is like handing £290 to a stranger on the street, who says they have an iPhone in their car - "just wait there, while I go and get it".............

The seller has good feedback, but most of it is out of date - all post 2008 transactions are for 99p or similar - boosting the look of the current feedback very cheaply - indicates a hacked/sold/transferred account to me. But heck, what do I know?!

how much would it cost the seller to sell this item as this is why she dont wanna go through paypal

They have numerous feedback for Nov/Dec/Jan

They aren't a big seller that's all.

No need to jump to conclusions, they are also selling something that is collection only too:roll:

My girlfriend almost got stung by someone on fleabay, just before Christmas - they were selling the new style PSPs for slightly less than the shops were doing them. The guy absolutely insisted that they wanted BT payment and not Paypal, because they wanted to avoid the fees etc.
In the end, we didn't go for it. A couple of weeks later, fleabay emailed us to say that they were investigating the seller - he was just basically ripping people off and didn't have the items.

The other thing your mate could do is perhaps email the guy and ask for the serial number of the iPhone so that you can double check the spec of it. The serial number will be on a label on the box and on the iPhone. You can take this and drop it into the Apple website - just to make sure it's the right spec. It's no guarantee that the sale is genuine or not, but its at least some kind of verification that they do in fact have the phone to sell.

lol, Paypal fees are gonna be £9.96 - not exactly the end of the world, is it  They accept Paypal, so get your friend to pay by Paypal  It's the only way they'll be covered for non-receipt of the phone

The seller says its Jailbroken and then says its locked to O2. When I did a jailbreak on my friends iphone it unlocked it to use any network.

You don't need to sync the iphone with itunes. When it asks "do you want to update software" you just say no,
this will avoid deleteing all existing apps.

And finely, like others have said i would want to pay with paypal and would want Special Delivery.

[email protected] advice to pay half a fee you don't have to.

You have to accept Paypal on Ebay,i would have walked away than paid more money.

But your friend has made their choice, good luck:thumbsup:
