get one where the letter P works, so you can type laptop?

any laptop can manage online video streams, any machine with a dvd comes with software to play from dvd no problem
a machine that can do this is around 350-400 pounds

Gaming, well you will have to tell us much more about what you expect to play, as that is a minefield. and the price goes up massively, so please tell us the games you expect to play.

sorry about that was in a rush sheesh just a typo,

i expect to play fm2010 mainly :)

then a 400 pound machine will suit you, football manager isnt machine intensive

go with the £379 dual core one, not the 349, as its single core

if you need to use comet, they wont sell dells

I only prefer dells as I find their backup very good, but toshiba's are well made, but have not used their service

yes, im sure this laptop will suit your needs

the HP you posted is a low voltage processor, its designed as a very light machine, and not much performance, and the AMD processors are not great at the moment either.

the laptop you said will not play games hardly. only basic ones. it will handle normal youtube and play dvds (the dvd drive is in the laptop) only netbooks have a seprate dvd drive. you mention gaming in your main post, based on that i would say do not get this, it is not powerfull enough.

However the laptop monkeybrains reccomended, will be forever playing games, very advanced ones, and will lose your dvd's and will cost you all your money

what kind of games will you play on it. really demanding games? if so you will need a laptop with dedicated graphics. a quick browse on comet shows that the cheapest dedicated graphics laptop is

http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/598097/ACER-AS4810TZG?cm_sp=FeatureEnd-_-Laptops-_-position

however its an acer, not the best of brands. but the money matchs.

http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/598984/SONY-VGNNW20SF-P.CEK/tab/specification i would buy this one personally for the amount of money you said. it has pretty much everything for the money. it is not dedicated graphics, but it will play resonable games most of the time. it will also do everything else you want it to do.

out of budget but this

the acer i suppose which i said before. cheap brand but it will play all your games and everything else fine.
the sony mentioned before i3 is more realiable so best go for that. just wont be able to play high end games on that smoothly enough. still its the best you will get for your cash

will it crash ?

Here's me thinking that a labtop is a new piece of technology that i hadn't heard about

OP are you dyslexic, a bad typist, lazy with a keyboard and prefer 'txt spk' or just really bad at spelling?

I really worry about the spelling and grammar of people leaving school these days.
Some of the C. V.'s we see at work.

is it me or is everyone who applies for a job good at working as part of a team or as an individual?

Goodbye :). Is it me or do people stay on a forum all night worrying about other people or what?

I knew what he was talking about.

OP why don't you try for a PC?

Your budget is good for a laptop you know what's wrong with the laptop the other guy posted?

CFC_Mark
 Yes i'm the one who overreacted (which is one word so you may need to rethink your own spelling and grammar skills)

am sure it can be understood as two words as well as combined.
I could be wrong, but thats OK, am OK with being wrong.

I get told it every day at work, and that I know nothing.

Used to fight it and it wears ya down, so I just agree now.

to the OP tho, does your new laptop have to be bought from Comet? cos Ebuyer have some canny decent machines.
www.ebuyer.com
they also do next day delivery.

Been buying parts from them since about 2001 now.
