Your link does not work, I think some of the text off the end is missing.

It takes you to a general PC World page.

From what I know (practically nothing ) to run Vista you really need at least 2 gig of RAM, and it does, sadly that is where I got bored researching what I would need!
Sorry for a pitiful response!!
( I love my HP laptop though!! :-D)

Edit - I think this deal was for the same laptop!!

While I have no experience of this laptop, here are my comments:

HP - Good make

AMD Tk55 CPU - Not the greatest but will be fine for what you want it for

Vista Home Premium - Fine and better than Vista Home Basic

2Gb memory - Fine for Vista

120Gb hard drive - as much as you would expect

£300 - good value for a 17" laptop

Refurbished - Slight worry, why is it refurbished? Did a customer return it, was it faulty. PC world dont have a GREAT reputation.

So overall, I think that much laptop for £300 is a decent deal.

Just has a thought - This may NOT be a refurb but just a discontinued model. They say it is a refurb just to reduce the price, and to still allow HP to charge a premium for "new" models. It may be a brand new product.

don't need to worry about the refurb laptops i allways recommend them for my friends also and they are really great...what else it also comes with 12 months warrenty as standard...so the refurbished laptops gives you good value for money...But think about 17" the laptop weights you morethan 3.5 kg and it is really heavy to carry in daily routine...but the laptop from tesco also weights you around 3.0 kg...So it is not much different...
