Yeah it does actually!, just took another look!

Why would someone take a picture of a group of strangers anyway?

Someone may have thought - is that madeline? And took a snap in hope.

On a road though - at what speed?..

If that was the case you wouldn't take weeks to hand the image to police....... you'd do it immediately.

The more I think about it, the more I think its been done just to sell more papers :-(

just a quote from the woman who took the photo..

Clara Torres, the photographer, told radio station COPE:

"On the morning of August 31 I was with my family and my partner, we were going from Chaouen to Tetuan.
"On the road, in a town called Zinat, I was taking photos of everything we saw, and we saw a group of people and took a photo.
"As soon as I took the photo we were struck by the little girl, who was very blonde.
"The truth is we said the name of the girl, but we couldn't believe it could be here, it was just impossible that it was here.
But it was only when she heard of other reported sightings in Morocco that she realised the true significance of the picture:
"I ran to the computer, downloaded the photos and started to amplify the photo and when we saw it we realised yes, it could be her.
"It sent shivers down my spine."
The photograph was handed to Spanish police who passed it on to Interpol.

Also true, could well be an evil scam for a bit of ££.

Many other external factors though which could be genuine - Moroccan police/media procedures may take time etc. Photo analysis etc etc, passing on for print in other countries etc etc I haven't read the article so don't know the dates / details etc.

Why would they be walking around with Madeleine in broad daylight, why is the photo quality so bad, why isn't she struggling and do those people in the photo look like your average kidnappers?

Seems pretty fake to me
#16
I have two takes on this, firstly if it is her then maybe it has been published too bring it back into the media spotlight.Secondly if it isnt and some sick person has made this up too sell newspapers then they want locking up.I can't start to imagine what has gone on or is going on in the minds of the mcanns and the sooner this whole buisness is concluded the better.Let's all hope she is found very soon alive and well and the whole family can start to rebuild their lives again.
#17
yea its prob photoshop

if someone really thought they saw her wouldnt they take more than a few pictures and make sure there in focus? plus if it was me i would have called the police no matter the cost and follow the group off people
#18
Why would anyone fake a photo like this to make money? There is so much hype around the case, they would know that any photo like this would be under the severist of scrutiny by many people. Even the greatest photoshopper's work could be exposed as a fake.

If it is fake, it will be exposed soon enough.

The quality of the picture isn't very good, hardly what you'd expect from a holiday makers camera!!

Its not that bad quality when you look at the full picture. Remember most of the clippings on the news sites are very close up.

I dont know them personally so thats a hard one to answer. Its human nature though to turn a blind eye.
#24
What would you all personally do if you saw madeline with a stranger. You were almost certain it was her..
#25
If I was driving past and only caught a glimpse of the child through my camera.......probably not a lot! Although I would have been quicker to download the photos.

well in a starnge country i certainly wouldnt approach them, but i would phone the police and keep in close proximity till they arrived, but like i said maybe it was at a later time they realised the similarity
#27
IMO the child in the picture looks alot younger than a four year old.

I'd take a picture and phone the police, I'd also follow them to see where they're going!

yes i thought that too
[admin]#30
I think she looks too young too. There've been loads of reported "sightings" of her, all of which were just other blond toddlers. Don't think it's her.
#31
Wonder why the police haven't said it isnt her yet?the plot thickens.
#32
it would be fantastic if it was her, i hope this all ends in a happy way.
#33
yep me as well.

Pictured girl 'is not Madeleine'

A blonde girl photographed in Morocco is not missing Madeleine McCann, according to journalists who met her.

British and Spanish reporters claim to have traced the girl, pictured being carried on a Moroccan woman's back.

The London paper, the Evening Standard, says the girl is a five-year-old from the village of Zinat.

The McCanns' spokesman said the news, if true, was disappointing. Madeleine disappeared on 3 May from a holiday apartment in Portugal.

Experts were said to be examining the image, taken three weeks ago by a Spanish tourist, in the hope that the girl was the missing four-year-old from Rothley, Leicestershire.

But Spain's Telecinco channel and the Standard both claimed to have traced the family in the picture.

Rashid Razaq, the Standard reporter who flew to Morocco from London, said he saw the youngster.

"She has got a resemblance to Madeleine but when you see her properly, it is obvious it isn't her."

He said the girl in the picture was five-year-old Bushra Binhisa, daughter of an olive farmer.

Family spokesman Clarence Mitchell promised that the search for Madeleine would continue.

Adoption maybe.

ITV News has said it's not Maddie

I'm not trying to be funny (not har har) or a heartless ******* but I believe she is dead - and because of the media. Anyone with half a brain (well...) would have wanted to get rid of any 'evidence' of Madeline McCann after all the publicity.
