It's not gonna happen. If we get passed on to RBS next week, we'll be sold to NESV within a matter of days. A 9-point deduction will only happen if RBS decide to keep hold of us.

erm quite a few american owners in the premier league, and didnt the USA draw with England at the world cup?

i know nothing about football or the inner workings, but surely you keep paying your players huge amounts of money every week, something is has got to give. Any normal business with this amount of debt would have the plug pulled ages ago, so how do football clubs keep going & still rack up debts ?

The sale will be done and dusted by then (I hope)...

The rumour I've heard from 'the city' is that RBS are looking into the value of Liverpool's assets, e.g. the players, the land etc. and seeing if it would be financially better for them to sell them off.

There's rumblings that because of their position it would be better to do it in the new year than wait until summer, which could see FOUR teams promoted from the championship to replace Liverpool.

Liverpool have a buyer lined up. If H&G default next week and RBS call in the loan, there are in-place buyers who pay off what RBS are owed straight away. Why would they waste money going through the administration process (only Lawyers make money out of that) when they have the option of getting their money back.

But it did get a bite though!

I have to say it is extremely funny (as a non Liverpool fan) at what hicks and Gillette are now trying to do! (ie fighting a $140M loss and be replaced by an even bigger one once the RBS closes in!)

Not hypocrisy from the mighty cow. Peers over to a John lennon thread :)

Your not posting fact, your posting fiction enveloped in your own usual opinnion of wait for a reaction and spout. Liverpool based on FACT, will not end up having to sell no one, neither will they get a 9 point deduction as already laid out in this thread.

They know how to buy an asset and then strip it - it's only business for them. If clubs are too dumb to see past the pound signs when selling themselves, too bad.

Just been listening to "The Drugs Don't Work" - by The Verve, cracking song. Just need some food now.

Spell it out for you no one will be sold to service the debt, as if you read the papers we have a buyer, if they don't sell straight RBS will to the new owners.

You said they won't end up having to sell no-one. Now either that was poor grammar or you agreed with my assessment.

Was it not a publically traded company? the club itself don't really get a say, its the sharholders who sell that should be blamed, but then again at 75% they're shares become worthless so do they cash in?

this might cheer up a few worried liverpool fans for a bit. It's direct from kai rooneys twitter feed and should be sung along to I will survive,

First I was afraid, I was petrified, Kept thinking mummy’s gonna take me back to Merseyside...

And I’ve spent so many nights, Thinking mummy’s up the duff, But I grew tough, I learned one rusk’s not enough...

And now dad’s sad, For what he did, Good news is, That every month, We have a spare twelve hundred quid...

Mum should have changed the stupid locks, Should have thrown away his key, Should have handed Jenny Thompson’s Mobile Number to JT, Now go..

Crazy to say liverpool will go into administration when a buyer is waiting to pay off all debt.....

RBS just want the debt repaid and the quickest way for that to happen is to let the sale of the club to the new owners go through

Next week is going to be monumental in Liverpool's future, what if H&G come up with the cash and it doesn't go into administration. There could be months / years of court wranglings then over exactly who is on the board and who can officially sell the club. I really can't see H&G letting it go for £300 million (and probably rightly so).

h&g value the club at 600 million (lol)
they deserve to walk away out of pocket, if they will time will tell but broughton seems to have done a job on them, getting them to sign to say he is the only one who can change the board..
