After my rather expensive day, what with the car failing its mot and the council tax bill due I logged into my emails to find my virgin ebill.

I'm meant to be on the 2 for £20 offer, but it doesn't work out that way as theyre charging me £5 to pay each bill! its because a few years back i was signed up for dd with them and one month they took the dd out of my account 3 times,i had to foot the bank charge that followed and I never did get a refund out of them so seeing the £5 payment charge made me see red!!

I rung them and got a rather snotty woman who said either pay by dd or pay the £5 charge so asked to be put through to the cancellation dept.

Spoke to a very nice lady and boy did I moan lol
told her that 2 for £20 wasnt working out,my call charges were high and I had been a customer for 12 years.

Sooooo I told her I wanted to jack both the services in and go with another isp as there were some good offers about such as a free wireless router, free laptops, cheaper bb for a number of months etc etc

She decided to send me a free netgear wireless router and changed my tariff so that I pay £20.49 a month that includes the £5 payment charge and for that i get my bb and my phone line with free local and national calls

wahhheyyyyyyyyy I'm very happy with the result :) after my crappy day lol

Yup, it pays to bitch and moan, but remember: It's the company trying to screw you, not the person on the other end, so be pleasant and polite. Keep the person on the other end on your side and you can go a long way.

I think the salesperson do sometimes try to screw you as well. Such as my experience with BT...they forced me on a plan I never asked for. And tried to get me to pay £33 each month payment plan on phone calls without my knowledge. And when I tried to change from from the plan I never asked for, they tried to jack me around saying they'll have to submit it to another department to change. Waited awhile and then phone back and was told it wasn't changed and need to wait more time for the other department to change it. And then two more calls later, finally got to someone who said he doesn't know why those people said it they need to submit it to another department since it could be done immediately here.........

but for an extortionate price
paying £5 extra a month just so you can view your bill before you pay does seem very unreasonable to me.

who does that?

virgin make me pay £5 a month as I refuse to pay by dd and use bank transfer or pay over the counter as they messed up my dd causing me bank charges before
