The thing is these cartons are between 12% and 25% but have been told it has to be pure;-)

The ones at supermarkets are pure cranberry juice, just make sure it doesn't say from concentrate.

These concentrate ones are the only ones I can find

The Supermarket ones are fine. Pure cranberry juice would probably cause you more problems.

You in a supermarket now? lol just buy the concentrate ones then.

the only way that you would get 'pure' cranberry juice is obviously to buy cranberries and juice them...just look in a supermarket for cranberry juice that is not from concentrate and it will be fine.

avoid the ones with the orange juice as well as that bit of it def wont help.
Any cranberry will do and drink as much of it as you can to help flush it all through

Does not need to be pure, to be honest i think pure juice might give you other problems
I quite like ocean spray it is rich in vitamin c and anti oxidants which is what you need. Hope it clears up soon

What antibiotics are you on? i have suffered for years with regular UTI's and i have to have a sample cultered to determin the bug that is causing it,what they tend to give is a broad spectrum drug that should kill the nastys My advice to you is drink plenty of water to dilute the urine and take paracetamol and wait at least 24 hrs for the antibiotics to work. It is a horrible thing to have and i sympathise but it will be over soon

All my family are sufferers, men and women. Some antibiotics are better than others, I keep a supply of trimethroprim handy as this is the only one that works for me in the long term. I also take bicarb. in water, it neutralises the acid that is causing the pain. I also take soluble aspirin to help the pain as you need something anti inflammatory as the lining of your bladder is swollen and sore.........hope you feel better soon, it is surprising how many people suffer. Don't drink enough water probably??

I was given trimethoprim first and these did not seem to work so yesterday was given nitrofurantoin.I take asprin because I have a dicky ticker but will give bicarb a try.I think my problem is sugar as I also have type 2 diabetes so maybe this is my problem.
Its amazing you go for a pee,sit down and you feel you have to go again.regards Paul.
#22
Yes diabetes is a problem, the sugar is passed in your water and mucks up the acid/alkili levels of the urine allowing bacteria to multiply. Try to be extra good with your sugar levels at the moment, no sugary snacks. I know its a pain but if you drink loads as well you should be right as rain in a few days........Sassie, I also have been ill in the night and ended up at A & E or emergency docs at 3am, not much fun as the pain is soooo bad. That's why I keep a supply in my bedside cupboard.
#23
I worked in urology for about 6 years and yes cranberry juice is always recommended so i guess it works!! On the carton it must say juice and not juice drink!
#24
you can get crnberry juice from most supermarkets. hop-e you're feeling better soon

Hi all again, earlier in the evening I got this incredible pain in my back started sweating profusely and felt sick so missus phoned doctors on call.I have just got back,I did another urine test which said that I did not have a infectionetc and that my diabetes was fine but there was a lot of blood in my urine. The doctor believes I have kidney stones and that I should see my doctor on monday for further investigation. He has given me 2 lots of pills to help stop the spasms that I am having and should help with my wanting to wee all the time(god I hope so)Told I dont need the antibiotics(whoopee).I would like to thank-you all for your help.cheers Paul.

Thanks,I am actually not too surprised he missed it as it is impossible getting an appointment with him, both times I tried to get an appointment I had to have my consultation with him over the phone.I did have to go to the surgery to get a bottle to do a specimen.I phoned the doctors earlier today and they said the doctor told them that it was clear.bit of a quack I think, anyway now for the tests whatever they maybe and hopefully my new pills will take the longing away.regards Paul.

hi paul
i had the same problem for about a year it drove me nuts they kept putting it dowm to my pregnancy
i always felt busting for a wee and would end up sat on toilet most of day
how i got rid of it was drank gallons of water for a couple of weeks then i just felt the stone pop out,the relief was instant, the stones are weird like sparkly glittery lol
i think cranberry juice only works to keep a healthy urinary tract i doubt it will shift a stone but worth a go,try drinking loads of water it worked for me
hope u pee it out soon i know how horrible it is sometimes lying in the bath would make me feel a little better for a short period and i found the more often i gave in to the urge to wee the worse the problem got so i tried distacting myslef from thinking i needed to go
my sympathies are with u

Time to try and go to bed god I hope these pills work soon, would be nice to get some sleep as not really slept for a few days.nighty night then. But I may be back soon
#35
it wasnt really painful, but u feel it come out!
the stone was bigger than a pea but not as large as a peanut.
i think that because i was holding the urine in and only going to the toilet hourly (very hard i know)
it was a mixture f me drinking loads of water and the pressure of the urine because i would only go when desperate forced it out
i hope to god i never get one again, the relief once is gone is great i couldnt of coped with it much longer!

If it gets too painful just get yourself straight down to Casualty. I did and they admitted me immediately, put a stent in and then some weeks later I had the stones blasted. Passed them no problem then.

I know how you feel and it's absolutely agony, get yourself off to the hospital!

lol has it worried u now?
some people are prone to them,it depends on the stone mine was made with calcium was i was told to cut back on yogurt milk etc im sure u should cut back on tea and coffee too

i would say drinking plenty of water daily would avoid them :)
