Agreed. We always get shafted for the standard of fight card over here/Ireland.

The UFC take the p*ss to be honest.

Horn and Coleman are washed up - bad match ups on both those fights - Davis and Lytle are mere journeymen, but it will be a good fight.

Dunno who you were listening to then - cause I never heard any such comment.

Horn has only won 2 of his last 5 fights, and Coleman hasn't fought in 2 years...

UFC 93 is going to be "MEGA"

I hope so, and Im definitely not going to fall asleep at this time :-D
#19
It's a poor, poor card - so it will pale into insignificance against 92, unfortunately.
#20
im interested to see how Rousimar Palhares does, they say he has top clas ju jitz for mma and taps big nog at training.I wonder how well he does against some one with as much experience at Horn, didnt do too well against Hendo though.

Although the fighters may not that well known to the casual fan, this card has potential to be great.

To be fair you won't see many cards like 92.

Franklin by SD.
#22
I think Hendo is due a win - he will go all out for this one - or he will lose his contract. Franklin is on the up, but I just think Hendo has too much in the clinch for him - and you know what happens to Franklin in the clinch
#23
He didn't look like a real man when he collided with Anderson - twice.
#24
acecatcher3
fair play to him tho, he would fight him again if he had the chance, dont know too many ppl who would get kod easily twice by sum1 then b willing to fight em again.

Ace, Franklin was interviewed not that long ago (few months) and said he's not interested in fighting Silva again - mentioned something about being fed up having his nose broken. That's why Franklin moved up to Light Heavyweight.

I like Franklin, don't get me wrong, but I think Dan is gonna make a statement against him.

not a bad call, Hendo got a iron chin a bit like my self, so its going to be hard to take him out, would of loved if it this was a 5rounder

he said the UFC wont let him fight for the belt while Silva has it, so he has moved up to 205. He never said he was scared.

 You really do live in a fantasy world!

he said the UFC wont let him fight for the belt while Silva has it, so he has moved up to 205. He never said he was scared.

The quote around that interview tells a slightly different story:

“I was talking to the UFC after the second [Anderson] Silva loss and they encouraged me to move up to 205. They told me my position there would be more appealing to them from a business perspective. They weren’t interested in a third match between me and Silva and they didn’t want me fighting contenders because I could eliminate possible title fights, so I was stuck in that I was going to be fighting people on the back end of their losses to Silva and I didn’t care for that gatekeeper position. After the Travis Lutter fight, I said I would try my hand at 205 again.”

Although previous to this, Franklin was interviewed and said he never wanted to fight Silva again due to the damage he's taken in previous encounters. He isn't good enough to be a champ at MW anymore, not with Silva there, Franklin wants to be a champion again, and the only way he could realistically regain a title was to change weight class.
#27
I thought Silva was also looking to move up to 205?

There was a lot of talk of that after he dabled in that weight class when he fought James Irvin at 205, and he might do - but there's also talk he will retire soon and might want to do that as MW champ.

Having said that I don't think he would struggle against any of the current LHW.
#29
Aye, as long as Chuck still has a contract with the UFC in the next 18 months - it might happen.
#30
With Chuck losing last 3 from 4(?) really can't see him causing A.Silva to many problems, but would still like to see it :)

Which turned out to be 2 of the worst fights of the night.

Like I said before, terrible card, terrible event.
