They were not bragging over profits. It was the media reporting.

Well done on finding your purse.

come on mj - the guy was spouting on - now there going into banking - watch your statements -

they are taking over the country - every postcode in britain has a tesco - fact (by postcode i mean letters - i.e nn - yo - etc

does every postcode have a special care baby unit - no so new mums have to travel 100s of miles

yet they close down the robin hood museum in nottingham because they cant pay the rent - (tesco own the land)

1000s of people are ripped off every day because of items wronly marked up or put above wrong prices - ok i know its the staff who do it but bottom line is tesco responsible for it

yes - i despise what they have grown into -

Typical media. Tesco are being critised for being successful. Did you know that Tesco originated from a fruit and veg stand? T E S Cohen (if I remember rightly) and over time they have grown into what they are today. That is a great, great business.

Tesco are a business. Not a charity and in the "current climate" they are going to be offering 11,000 jobs. Who else can match that? We should be embracing this.

Whilst I appreciate that some very unfortunate services, businesses are having to close down, this isnt down to Tesco. It is down to the economy.

tesco treat a lot of their staff terribly - happy to say i have helped a ffew peeople gettheir jobs back / or won case - actually helped a hukder a while back -

they may have given 11000 people jobs - mostly below 15 hours so exempt from may benefits

I worked for Tesco and they were fantastic. A few years ago now but they offer jobs to young and old alike. Many of my friends from school, college and university all worked at Tesco. Quite a few still work there now.

That is the decision of the employee just as much as it is the decision of the employer. I doubt that the 11,000 jobs will be 15 hour contracts. I feel confident enough to say that I doubt 50% will be 15 hour contracts.

The tales of robin hood was a rip off and a crime to Nottingham tourism. Quite frankly I hadn't noticed it had gone and I will not miss it. Maybe now tourists will happily return, not see the city as full off scammy tourist 'hot spots' who take their money and give smelly, rubbish waxworks in return.
Apparantly they hadnt paid their rent for some time and Tesco had let them off for this, but the time comes when you have to draw the line.

I don't work for tesco anymore or have any affiliation with them and dislike them for a lot of things, but this is not one of them. If The Tales were a thriving business, they wouldnt have gone down, meaning that they were rubbish and good riddance!

Rant over!

But I did last summer. I was treated very well, respectfully and paid extremely well for the work we were doing. The staff we all very happy there and we had a great time. I would never say they treated me badly.
