I'd assume either a streaming service or The Beatles catalogue.

It's a big deal if you're Steve Jobs, and kinda cool. Always nice to give them some publicity and teach a new generation about probably the greatest band of all time.

I often believe people who think The Beatles were overrated just haven't listened to their catalogue.

I can't (off the top of my head) think of a band with as many great albums, let alone the consistent quality and experimentation that started with Rubber Soul and ended with Let It Be.

Can you?

Depends on your definition of great. I don't deny plenty of people like them. You can't really be overrated otherwise.

I think some of their songs are OK, but outside of the big names, the "album tracks" if you like, are instantly forgetable in my opinion.

You'd be right in thinking I haven't listened to their entire catalogue - I have no interest in doing so either, since the stuff I've heard hasn't made me want to hear more.

What actually are the 'big names'? I can't think of a track on Sgt. Pepper's or 'The White Album' that isn't a well-known song.

But at least you admit you haven't actually listened to them - you really should.

Think you missed the point - even the big name songs don't impress me enough to want to listen further.

I don't even know what the big name songs are to be honest. There's so many well-known ones but hey, it's your loss.

That's a very badly constructed sentence. It should be 'there are' and not "there is/there's".

Terrible announcement - Beatles are so overrated it's unreal (and yes I have listened to them; I'm doing a music course in Liverpool).

Empty hype.

I can't think of another band who produced albums of the quality of Rubber Soul, The Beatles, Sgt. Pepper's, Revolver, Abbey Road or Let It Be. I'd be happy to hear your suggestions though.

Doing a music course doesn't add validity to your opinion either. I can think of plenty of great acts who didn't do such an esteemed course in such a historical seat of learning who have been influenced by The Beatles and even covered their songs.
