Hi, a few weeks ago I tried to jailbreak my iPod touch but it dident work so I had to reset it to factory default, I had a few songs (about 15) I was wondering if there is a way to download them again for no extra charge, when I click on a song it says I've already bought it and do I want to buy it again, I can do it with the app store no problem it just says you have already bought it, do you want to download it again for free, I've spent about £45 on iTunes and I want my songs and apps back like normal but there's no way of doing it, :( does anyone know what I can do?

I have an Iphone and when I have done something like that and click on again, it downloads but doesn't charge again. You should try 1 thing (the cheapest) and see what happens.
Good Luck

How is it stupid Apple becuase you didn't bother making a back up. If you bought a CD and you snapped it would you blame HMV or where ever you bought it from?

'Cause you can't make a backup as far as I know

The whole of boasting they do is they save it onto your account so you have it wherever you go.

All you do is copy and paste the songs to somewhere else, they're not even copy protected, I use the same songs bought from itunes on all 3 of my iPods and my Sony Ericsson W810 mobile.

Really? Where are they located?

It's a iPod touch all the files are copy protected exept for the photos, there should just be a download list with the stuff you have downloaded on what can only be accessed on your iPod

dcx_badass
But surely they are stored in itunes aswell? So just copy them from your music directory.

Copy them to where it won't let you as far as I know?
#15
...use bit commet to down load them again, then all music will be in your 'my music' folder. then get itunes to add files/folders and hey presto.
#16
dcx_badass
Are they not added to itunes? I can copy and paste from iTunes to anywhere I like.

Also all itunes music is iTunes Plus now which is an uncopyprotected .m4a file.

This is LEGAL music we're on about you know?

Yes, I already said my songs I bought from itunes, I use on all 3 of my iPods and my Sony Ericsson mobile phone.

I've never been able to.
#18
dcx_badass
How can't you, all you do is copy and paste the .m4a file to where ever you want. It's not hard.

Where is the m4a file! And do phones etc. instantly detect m4as?

...send apple an email thru there own problem solving/contact us page, you will be asked to enter you order/purchase/invoice number and the will resend what your missing to your itunes account so that next time you log on, they will automatically download. had to do it myself yesterday for some apps that i bought and were removed when i synced with the laptop. they were pretty fast about it to.

Well then you should have made a back-up, it's tough luck and your own fault.

What would you do if you snapped a CD? Demand a new one from the shop?

Dude apple brag they save your songs no matter what you can access it anywhere anytime
#31
So if I go sign in to playstation network and re-download a game I bought Sony are gonna go bankrupt, if I can download a game what's £20 twice why can't I do that to a 99p song?
#32
Lol this is 1 of the most discussed
#33
dcx_badass
No you're fault for not looking after the songs/files properly. I love how you are avoiding my question about CD's.

Link? I've never seen that said, and am well aware that you can't just re download the songs as and when you choose.

As long as you are logged in yes
