itunes homesharing how to move the apps to another computer?

Hi
I want to move my old itunes library onto my new laptop so that my old PC can be put away in the attic.
After advice on here earlier today i backed everything up and consolidated my library.
This evening i turned homeshare on after i watched a video on you tube and copied all my music and podcasts over.
They seem fine but it has not copied any ipod and iphone apps which also need to go to the new computer.
Can anyone help not sure what i did wrong. Both machines are authorised. I have not plugged an ipod into it yet so could that have something to do with it.
I am getting my first iphone in the next few days and wanted itunes up and running on my new computer first so that the process would hopefully be easier. We have lots of apps that both my partner and son use on their iphone and touch.
Thanks in advance.

1. Connect itunes to your iphone/ipod on your new computer.
2. Click on your iphone under devices and ensure the 'Sync App' box is checked.
3. Click sync, you should get a popup saying if you want to transfer your apps from your iphone/ipod. Just click yes and you will have the apps transferred on the new computer.

Further to this after looking carefully at my music library it seems that all the games are there but in with the music. There isnt even apps listed on the left under the library. So now i just need to know how to group them together.

iTunes > Edit > Preferences > Tick 'Apps' under show library.

Once the apps are transferred on the new computer, you can sync your "new" iphone with the same account and the apps will be added on it.

Hope this helps.

Or Just Show in Finder on an App and highlight all and copy on to memory stick
